I believe I was rescently hit with a major adware or virus onto my pc. Over the past several days I tried tutorials and other anti virus software but none of them seem to make contact with the malware. I have programs popping up on my browsers and other programs such as putrr18.com which really frustrates me. If anyone can help it’d be much appreciated. If not, my last resort is to buy a new ssd to stop the annoyance.

Initially the ads and re-directs started popping up on my Microsoft Edge. I installed an extension to remove the ads so I can have access to my web browser. I'm afraid if I pause the ad blocker, the adware will return. After installing the ad blocker, ads then started popping up on Origin which is not a web browser but rather a platform used to buy and run games.

I don't think it's my router as all my other devices doesn't seem to have pop-ups as my pc. I started getting pop-ups after installing different mods, which one was actually malware.

If this helps, my browsers were redirecting me to putrr18.com and pipechannel.com

I don't see an infection on your PC. Let's try to clean the cache:

FRST.gif
Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finishes FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

How is the situation now?
