Hi,

My computer was infected yesterday. The symptoms were: My browser Firefox was starting by itself and I was getting some kind ads. I scanned my computer with my Eset Internet Security and with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware but it did not help. In the end, I used AdwCleaner and completely without thinking, I agreed to clean things, which it found it. After this when I restarted computer I have got into Windows but just after few seconds it freeze and I cannot do anything.

I'm sending you some .logs to show what this application did it (OK, myself)

Please, help me to solve this problem because I really do not want to clean my computer and start everything from the beginning.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. :)

Hello,

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

I made this scan in the save mode because I was not able to get in the Windows normal mode.
If I remembered well everything start to go down before AdwCleaner scan started when Mail.RU website open by itself.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finishes FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I have one question, I look at file fixlist.txt and I noticed some lines about mail.ru. This is reason why everything started to go down in my computer. I want to ask if this fix is gonna delete and clean my computer from anything connect to mail.ru or maybe you just setup things to work well. If this is the case I would like if possible to completely clean my computer from everything connected to a mail.ru.
I will wait with my fixing to your response.

Hey,

Nothing has changed after a fixing. I have to mention two things that I forgot to tell you earlier:
1.Everything kind of frozen, but I can still move the cursor on the desktop.
2. In the computer is started from the Windows taskbar appears time and icon of the Internet, which has on it a spinning wheel, which symbolizes that he needed some time to connect. This circle at one point stops and this is the end of the entering the Windows.

Hi,

There is a lots of to say. First of all when I did chkdsk C: /r first time after restart it came back to regular mode and it stopped (or freezes). Next I tried again of course in Save mode and after restart black screen appeared with 8 dots on left and I knew that something was going on. it took so long that I left this for whole night. In the morning computer was in the Windows and was a lots of things to do. first of all my malwarebytes program made probably in the night the scan and there were some things to remove. which I did.
Internet was not connected but after troubleshooting checking it started to work. After this I did restart and computer come back to the Windows but again it stopped (or freeze) like before. But I noticed that this problem maybe is not about a freezing because when I click on icon of some application on desktop it showed up this wheel (spinning) which is to show that apps is in the process. I was waiting 1/2 hour because I hoped that maybe after long time this application will start to work, but nothing happened but after 1 hour one more icon appeared on the right side of Taskbar close to the Time it means that something there is working but very, very slow. This is my observation and I'm not sure if it will help you but I think is important.
