App Review AppGuard (Demonstration and Reviews)

It is advised to take all reviews with a grain of salt. In extreme cases some reviews use dramatization for entertainment purposes.

I used SignerExtractor (from NoVirusThanks) to see what signed software I had installed. It used to be freeware, but as with nearly all usefull apps of NVT it became shareware/payware.

Agree that default deny in user folders (plus deny execute of LoLbins for SUA) and minimal allow whitelist is the best approach for minimizing the attack surface.

I have a suspicion if cruel sister can score an App guard Lic she will be posting a cool video with tweaks. I wait with baited breath.

I have a legit question. Looking at my screenshots, what programs does a home user really need? besides Symantec or Mc cafee?
I have all but a couple deleted.

Thanks
Thre screenshots only show a part of the row titles.

There are many protection programs that rely on whitelists that are similar in work, such as AppGuard, the only difference will be in ease of use and the availability of updates, including free and paid ones. If you search well, you may find other programs that I did not notice. I hope that this is suitable for you

If you make 70% discount, we can buy. Very expensive :) 80% discount can also be
I have tried AppGuard twice over the past few years. Last time was about a year ago, and it was "ok" but ended up uninstalling it following directions from support. One thing I noticed was that it produced hundreds and perhaps thousands of entries or errors in log I think related to MS Edge browser, IIRC, and this seemed to be common issue among AG users circa version 6.7. I am willing to try AG again. Wish there were more use videos available for home users as I know AG is a more enterprise app...

Hi guys! I’m AppGuard’s Chief Product Officer and stumbled upon this thread. Please feel free to ask me any questions and if you are having trouble with the product our team is absolutely here to help you.

Hello :)

I'm Shadowra, the tester who made this video on AppGuard.
If you'd like me to re-test it, is it possible to get a trial version privately?
Thanks :)

I got a lot of alerts using Appguard 4, but never that many. There was an AG employee, I think, in Wilders who said just to ignore them. Maybe @weevilkris can confirm.

yes, I was using v4 too, but did pay to run v6, and I did see the comment "just ignore those" log entry errors, but I found that difficult to do... Wondering if that was fixed in current v6.7. My notes show I have a paid license thru mid-December. I sent message to support to see about installing AG-Solo on VMware GuestOS. No reply yet. In 2023, support was ok.

V4.4.6.1 lifetime works excellent to me. No problems with it so far.
good to know, not sure if that version buried somewhere on this pc going back to 2016, maybe. FWIW I sent support email to AG about remaining term of my current 6.7.x license and been 2 days (maybe 3) and they have not replied. Not sure but I think problematic to transfer AG to another pc...

update_fwiw... AppGuard support replied positively today about the status of my current v6.7 license and installing on VMware GuestOS. I installed AGsolo 6.7.65.4 on a win10_vm also running ESET Nod32. Installation went smoothly! Check for updates says it is a current version. I am going thru the v6.n User Guide to refresh my memory re optimal settings...
