Fred III came to live with me on June 4, 2015.

That's the reason that I named them all Fred.
Fred is not Norwegian but my Great Grandfather was Carl Oscar Olsen who was born in what is now Oslo so I guess I am.

Interesting, I also run Heimdal Pro for a year - seemed to get better, at first I had some issues. Also was running Vipre (both expired), so now I am running Webroot with MWB Pro/Paid version, so far I like the combo.

I hear good things about Sophos, the other AV I hear good things about is ESET (West Coast USA Based Support)

In the W95 days I used McAfee, Then moved on to Norton, and then avast!.
And now, since 2013 I am using ESET on all 5 machines.
That's it.

Dave, another thing about ESET in the U.S. is the fact that Newegg practically gives it away. For years I paid $5 for NOD32 and I just recently bought a 3 computer, 1 year license for Smart Security from them with a $60 discount. Cost me $20.

That sadly is the way to go for ESET. They do not give any discounts for renewals going through ESET themselves. Some resellers may hook you up, but they will not be able to match what you can get from Newegg.

You need to be on Newegg's email list to get the bargains PLUS ESET gave me a FREE Smart security AND a three computer, 1 year license of my choice and I chose NOD32. Only thing is it shows as a 1 year trial.
