Yes, kaspersky deserves this award, last year, bitdefender won, because of the AVC policy.

Otherwise, Kaspersky & bitdefender is getting tied for three years now.

I'm afraid the strong points of Kaspersky are not intended to be its detection rates, rather the overall capabilities. Thus it boasts much more powerful behavior blocking modules, HIPS, firewall, and other components, which by far surpass those of its competitors (if those competitors actually have such components...)

Maybe the only comparable security suite in terms of the capabilities mentioned above, is Emsisoft Internet Security.
I think Norton is also comparable with its strong layered protection.

@harlan4096: Indeed they have different priorities on regarding the threat classification, they are already aware on those keygen/cracks since it does not possess any risks unless contains malicious code since the behavior are much similar on suspicious to that's another where analysis came to be more accurate. + Adware/PUP/PUA definitely may contain low detection rates as it influence the possible of agreement or none on the malicious behavior unless they discovered something.

Take an example with Viber that ESET flagged it as malicious, its a sign that they analyzed clearly as they found out something suspicious on the privacy even though in such vague picture that's an FP cause the program is legitimate.
