What do you think is better (detection (on-demand / on-access), disinfection, use resources etc.)?

They aren't really comparable. Avast! uses a signature based virus database while Panda is a cloud AV. Avast! offers a lot more features then Panda in it's free version. If I would have to compare my vote would go to Avast! because it has more features and has better detection rates.

At one point Panda Cloud prior to version 2 had good results but now on version 2 I barely seen the web protection kick off for example.

Panda version 2 is out for a bit only and users already reporting issues, yet Avast 7 also been out for a bit but there are issues that need to be addressed (please, do not post the link to the whishlist on avast forums)...

If we however bring down to its core on simply detection and cleaning potential, avast has an advantage due to the signatures while panda is dependent on cloud. Needless to say some users say avast is faster at scanning than panda, others say its the other way around, then its cleaning and then this and that. What we have to also consider is that no solution will behave the same on different systems.

Avast! Definetely

Any reason why Avast?
Avast's interface is better
Pandas prevention is worse in most cases based on experience and these links

Avast's on scanning is a little worse but, most people use another on demand scanner to be safe anyway

I see, but if you trust Panda that is all that matters. Not all the time people are going to go with what everyone says. I've been with Trend Micro for years now.

I vote Panda cloud !

i will tell you a story:

Once upon a time, my Girlfriend got infected by a bounty hunter malware vicious enough to make her laptop fall on its knees...at that time i called Jedi Knight HMP and Master MBAM, none of them could remove it, then on my USB lightsaber i had a young Sith called Darth Panda...i bid him to kill the infamous malware, after using the dark Side of the Force into a scan , the malware was annihilated and the laptop run fast as before Big Grin

Nice one!!!!!

Was that the USB Immunizer or does Panda Cloud AV can be set as a usb scanner? Have not really tried Panda before except when it started their Cloud scanner way back 2009. Did not like it because at that time the whole cloud thing did not yet sink into this small brain of mine. Well I got interested especially how you made it to launch in a usb stick. Was it an exclusive usb stick you made just for scanning or can the stick be used as storage also..?
