I'm still with Filen.io and Google Drive as a backup.

Filen.io keeps getting better and better, despite them being a startup and having a small team. I really appreciate them being honest and in case of a f*ckup on their end, they will do anything to gain your trust again. I also appreciate their honesty and transparency regarding their work and progress.

Mobile app is still riddled with bugs though, but the improvement is visible.

I used to like MEGA, but I just can't get along with their limits. Sometimes bandwidth limit is 5 GB, sometimes 1 GB, and sometimes 10 GB. It's getting ridiculous. We shall not forget that vulnerability which lets hackers (and potentially MEGA) see your "encrypted" files.

What Filen.io upload speed like ?

I don't care really about the upload speed as I don't upload large files, but I did test now and it's around 20-25 MB/s. Speed varies where you are tough as all the infrastructure is in Germany. I wouldn't recommend Filen to anyone outside EU for that reason.

Download speed, on the other hand, is quite faster and goes up to 70 MB/s for me.

I use Apple to save my photos etc on iPhone / iPad / Mac Air, but on PC's I don't use any cloud services, (some mail saved by MS) I'm really the odd one out here, I do have 5 external drives that I use often, works for me - I still feel shoving over 3 TB of data, which is most precious up to the cloud would take some time & I trust my system pretty well.

I don't care about cloud backup, yeah if I had anything worthwhile saving I would but encrypted .7z or encrypted .zip works best.

Anyway if I lose my music I'll just re-download, will it suck? Yeah but everything is a click away on YouTube now so no stress.

All my office/professional/papers/journals is on M365 anyway, VScode stuff stored on USB.

1- it supports webdav. Thus I can using it with Cryptomator. I do not need to trust their encryption.

I am using Filen.io and am happy with it. Have been using it for many years now. Proton Drive seems quite good too but I haven't used it too much.

If by backup you mean storing photos and videos, then yeah. If you mean storing app data, call logs, SMS and device settings, then no. Google is way more deeply integrated to Android than what Filen.io could ever be.

Usually cloud services don't scan for copyrighted content; only YouTube does so. But they will delete the material if you share the link to the uploaded copyrighted material and report comes in.

pCloud can see your stored files unless that behaviour changed.

Koofr, too, can see your stored files. This is why I am using Cryptomator and I do encrypt file names too

They all see the files you upload except if the service is really zero knowledge encrypted... like Filen.

I used pCloud long time ago especially for music as it was the only cloud service with a music player built-in. It was miserable experience as the player wouldn't work correctly. I don't remember why I left pCloud exactly, but I did ran on some issue the service.
