Hi,

I recently got a licence for Bitdefender AV + , I'm actualling using CIS , so .. if I just install Comodo Fw and Bitdefender Av+ , is it better than staying with CIS ? I heard that BD Av is Better than the Comodo one

What do you suggest ?

Thanks :)

Yup Bitdefender AV is very good, Light and efficient. I used it for a Year.
Comodo FW is not recommended by bitdefender as it may face some compatibility issues " Said by bitdefender itself" They informed Windows firewall is good enough for basic level security. I didnt have any problem to my pc for over a year untill i switched to 8.1.:D
I also recommend u to use windows firewall with Bitdefender AV , because just BD AV has plenty web protection including antispam and amazing search advisor.

BD is very good, my GF's PC been using it since 2 years ago, they also had firewall build in, so there is no need to using another firewall. Although what I didn't like from BD is their support :(

And yes, BD is buggy on some machines, I have no idea.

Did you place exclusions for BD in CIS and vice versa when you experienced this slowdown..?

Yes I did. Comodo FW, was very excited , it showed me 1 million popup about BD, so I accepted everything. The slowdown occured at windows startup, it took about 1 minute for windows to displays icons, then the hard disk was working like 'forever' and the fw continued to popup about BD ... soo , I uninstalled

my config is : AMD Phenom II x4, 6 Gb ddr3 , AMD HD 7870 1Gb, Windows 8.1

@SifhX,

Hmmm...I am gonna try BD AV 2014 later on this week but not with CIS v7. I may be pairing it with OA Premium. My license for Emsisoft IS will soon expire and I know I have a spare BD AV unused lying around somewhere. Will make a system image and then I'll check it out if slow start-up time will be a factor with or without exclusions placed. Might you remember what where the start-up items you had when you experienced the start-up slowdown?

Any of you guys experienced the same slow start-up time here...?

Hi SifhX :),

Thanks for the reply. The partition I will be using BD AV (currently with Emsisoft IS) boots up at 30sec. I'll post here or start another thread when I have installed BD this week. :)
