I hear you. What I observed is Panda mostly lags behind in the Detection especially for very fresh samples. But they do get added from time to time thou.
It can be sufficient for a person with the right online habits.
The free Panda offers inefficient antivirus and outdated firewall, whilst the paid editions add a plethora of inefficient, not to say unfit for the purpose tools such as:
-Application control which attempts to block unknown executables but almost everything for it is unknown
-A cleanup that does less than a user can do manually by shift+deleting a few folders
-Ransomware protection that was never proven to work
-Inefficient browsing protection, although Cyren was dumped (it was atrocious), WatchGuard isn’t any better
-So-so VPN, mediocre password manager and “support” which you better pray you wouldn’t need.
-Intrusion prevention system that is nothing more than static firewall rules
-Last but in no way least, bugs.
If someone needs a light solution, there are others like Eset and McAfee that offer it.
