Hi,

I've got a laptop a friend asked me to look at. Wifi is disabled on reboot. anyway it had some infections so I ran hitman pro, malwarebytes, all clean.

If your surfing on chrome or IE, search something and click on link the site appears ok, then your get a mention at the bottom about how they use cookie, and the site is loading all sorts of urls at the bottom of the browser, then ads appear, then it started beeping or shouting at me that it's infected call support which is a scam

I've had stuff like this before but hitman pro or malwarebytes always sorts it. They are all coming back clean, reset the browsers, no extensions in Chrome active. HELP!!!!!

I also ran adwcleaner and it's clean! Yet I surf the web for 2 mins and beep beep you computer is infected! Arrrrrgggghhh! so frustrating! Any ideas where to go next?

Sorry, new here. Just read the blurb. Attached is FRST reports as per the Preparation Guide. :)

Maybe the wifi being disabled also part of the problem? I'm starting to think a clean install is a good idea! lol.

I'm just trying to help my neighbour out. My kids usually cause my technology issues which is more than enough! She's got 2 young kids and I think they get it well infected. I had it 6 months ago when it has so many pop ups on it she couldn't read anything, and Malwarebytes and Hitman pro sorted that out ok. That's about as far as my experience goes and I'm already suggested she might be better off backing up and restoring it.

It's running a Kaspersky CD thing that I downloaded using this guide. Remove malware when traditional tools fail and I'll leave that running over night and see how it goes. It's their only computer so I would like to help them out.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Wow TwinHeadedEagle that was amazing. I ran Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, Avast, Spybot S&D and a few others and none of them fixed it, and your script thing worked first time and it only took a minute! Your a genius!

What did it do that the other programs didn't? I seems crazy to me that they want your money to fix these issues and none of them worked!

I'm sure my neighbour with throw me a 6 pack for helping her so I'll donate to you so you can share in the glory! :) She's going to be so chuffed! Cheers mate! :)

The Importance of Software Updating:

In order to stay protected it is
very important that you regularly update all of your software. Cybercriminals depend on the apathy of users around software updates to keep their malicious endeavor running.

Operating systems, such as Windows, and applications, such as Adobe Reader or JAVA, are used by tens of millions of computers and devices around the world, making them a huge target for cybercriminals. Downloading updates and installing them can sometimes be tedious, but the advantages you get from the updates are certainly worth it.

Recommended additional software:

icon and Run as administrator option.
  • Make sure that these ones are checked:
    • Remove disinfection tools
    • Purge system restore
    • Reset system settings
  • Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
  • All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)
The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.
