Hello, is it technically possible to encrypt some portable drive/device using both BitLocker and VeraCrypt at once? And if so, how? I tried it to no avail.

This wouldn't make sense as you break recovery process.
If you want combine that, use VeraCrypt container in encrypted Bitlocker drive

I have encrypted my portable HDD using Cryptomator in case it gets stolen or lost. I have formatted it, created a vault using Cryptomator and stored all my files there. My backup are stored outside of Cryptomator vault but are encrypted using O&O DiskImage AES256 encryption.
