Can't remove 22find, I'm completely desperate.

Hi everyone,

I really need your help as nothing works for me to get rid of 22find.
It's still my homepage and it slows down my browser.

I tried to do as you asked but OTL only gave me an OTL.txt at the output and aswmbr crashes midway.

So now I feel quite desperate and I'd be really happy if you could help me.

STEP 1: Run a HitmanPro scan

STEP 2: Run Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer
<ol>
<li>You can download the TFC utility from the below link

<li>It <>will close all programs</> when run, so make sure you have <>saved all your work</> before you begin.</li>
<li>Click the <>Start</> button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. <>Let it run uninterrupted to completion</>.</li>
<li>Once it's finished it should <>reboot your machine</>. If it does not, please <>manually reboot the machine</> yourself to ensure a complete clean.</li>

STEP 1: Run a scan with AdwCleaner

<li>Close all open programs and internet browsers.</li>
<li>Double click on <>adwcleaner.exe</> to run the tool.</li>
<li>Click on <>Delete</>,then confirm each time with <>Ok</>.</li>
<li>Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.</li>
<li>Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.</li>
<li>You can find the logfile at <>C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt</> as well.</li>

You should be able to run both scans while in Normal mode...
STEP 2: Run a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware in Chamelon mode

<li>Download <>Malwarebytes Chameleon from <a title="External link" href="http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/chameleon" rel="nofollow external">here</a> </>and extract it to a folder in a convenient location</li>
<li>Make certain that your PC is connected to the internet and then open the folder where you extracted Chameleon to and double-click on the Chameleon help file and then follow the onscreen instructions to use it.</li>
<li>If the Chameleon help file itself will not open, then double-click each file one by one until you find one that works, which will be indicated by a black DOS/command prompt window <em><>Note:</> Do not attempt to open <>mbam-killer</> as that is not a Chameleon executable and serves a different purpose)</em></li>
<li>Follow the onscreen instructions to press a key to continue and Chameleon will proceed to download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for yo</li>
<li>Once it has done this, it will attempt to update Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, click <>OK</> when it says that the database was updated successful</li>
<li>Next, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will automatically open and perform a Quick scan</li>
<li>Upon completion of the scan, if anything has been detected, click on <>Show Result</></li>
<li>Have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware remove any threats that are detected and click <>Yes</> if prompted to reboot your computer to allow the removal process to complete</li>
<li>After your computer restarts, open <>Malwarebytes Anti-Malware</> and perform a Full System scan to verify that there are no remaining threats</li>

Please change your Home page in all the browsers and restart the computer. Check if you are facing the issue after a restart.......

I already did and even reseted. But it's still here.

PS : Maybe it will be useful, even in safe mode I've still this damn 22find home page.
PS2: other funny thing... when i open the browser 22find is my first page, but when i click on the homepage button, I've the good homepage.

Okay......... Open the file c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe and check what you are getting as home page......

When I open this file this way I don't have 22find, I've the expected home page. The same for my other browsers =D

And if you ask, the problem is because of the .lnk file. Here for example the .lnk file for firefox.

The highlighted part is the exact website address I have when i launch the browser. It's the same for all my browser.
Unfortunately I don't dare to touch those files, they all have different locations and I can't just delete the website address (with notepad) else the .lnk file can't be used.

Okay No problem...

Delete the Short Cuts of your Desktop for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox...

Now go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\ there you can see one file called firefox.exe. Right Click on that one and select Send To -- > Desktop.

Same way Go to c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ there you can see iexplore.exe right click on that one also and select Send To -- > Desktop. Now check if you are facing issues......

STEP 1: Clean your temporary files to gain more hard drive space and remove the junk files

Is this ESET thing trustable? 4 hours of scans, still 99% at step 3 for almost 2 hours when it didn't even checked half of my files? How long does it takes?

[Edit] : almost 5 hours... I'll do that next week-end, it takes really too long.

If possible please wait till it complete the scan... Did it detected any infected files?

I had to stop it after 5 hours (it was 01:00 am with classes the following morning). No infected files detected (I have to thank you for that =D I'm really grateful). However I have to reserve a full day for it as it had scanned half the number of files malware bytes usually scan.

Also there's something else I'd like to ask advice from you.
Using those software, now there are some problem concerning my PC. I can't use shortcuts to mute my PC or change the volume and all the indicators that appeared on my screen when using shortcuts don't appear anymore. I asked online support of the constructor company who told me to do a complete restauration of the system.
What do you think? What does it exactly imply comparing to a normal restauration?
