Here are my files. Also, how do I search your forums to see what solutions are already listed?

Hello,

Did you scan your PC with MalwareBytes?
As I stated in my original post, I followed all the instructions on the MalwareTips web site & Step #3 is to run Malwarebytes. You might want to check out this link in my original post to see all the things I have already tried. Thanks.

FRST.gif
Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finishes FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

I had already run FRST but not sure if both files were in the same directory so I followed your instructions & ran it again. Attached is the Ffixlog.txt. BTW, when my system rebooted. a browser window opened with Cassiopesa, so doesn't look like anything was fixed.

You said "Scan" this time & "Fix" previously. I just want to clarify which one you want me to do this time. Thanks.

This is probably easier for you:

FRST.gif
Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please re-run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to give me a fresh look at your system.
  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Make sure that Addition.txt option is checked.

  • Press Scan button and wait.
  • The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.
Please attach report into your next reply.

I think I already followed these steps that you gave me on 2/19. But, in any event, I did them again & attaching the files. I am also attaching a Wordpad file to show you a message I got after the "Fix" started & what I saw when my PC rebooted. It does not seem to be fixed.
I got a popup from EMSISOFT after the Fix started but this blog won't let me paste a screen shot. Part of what it said was the FRST64 was not digitally signed & could be faked.
Also, it would it let me upload a Wordpad file where I saved the 2 screen shots that you need to see. The first was the msg from EMSISOFT & the second screen shot was of the Cassiopesa tab open after the reboot. So I guess nothing has been fixed yet.

The instructions you sent me were from 2012 & things have obviously changed in Chrome since then because there was no "Stop Sync & Delete Data from Google" button. I tried finding newer instructions but couldn't so I am not sure if I was able to clear the sync data. If you have newer instructions, that would help. Or, how can I tell if I cleared the data? Thanks.
