Back here to report that I have had replies on my posts at BD forums. I will summarize the replies(if my issues are solved or not) when I get more information. BD support did not reply anymore via email. The only reply I got from BD customer service is that they are asking me to undergo a survey nothing else. Seems the tech support engineer who was formerly helping me out left me to dry in the BD forums. There's an observation that I missed to post here with regards to the slowboot time behavior of the partition with BD. There was a "black screen" observed by other BD users prior the Windows Welcome screen. I also got that but assumed that it's part of when you have BD installed. Apparently it is not normal to BD users having that and is still an issue.

Here are some of the topics I participated in,

Boot-up time has increased due to bitdefender internet security 2014. But I did not find any problem with firewall.

You can see below that chrome has been blocked in bitdefender firewall. In process explorer you can see that chrome is not able to establish connection with remote server. Chrome is sending TCP SYN signal but it is being blocked by bitdefender firewall filter. So Bitdefender firewall is working perfectly.

Similary Bitdefender is successfully able to block Firefox.

Hi....

That's good to know that you like Norton. What i meant was all the bad reviews Norton would receive some time ago and people would still judge them without using the most recent versions of Norton. At one time it was slow, not good detecting malware, resource hog, to many pop-ups... etc... But that was a long time ago. We all know that antivirus software are NOT PERFECT and all happen to slip once in awhile and that includes Norton... I have use Avira, BitDefender, Avast and they do perform well but i just happen to like Norton.

Just an update from my posts at the BD forums,

Newbie Question On Bitdefender Sandbox
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=53515

Tried the BD sandbox and was not impressed. It still is ages from Sandboxie.

To get items you have downloaded wile using BD sandbox you have to "Hide protected operating system files" and then go to,

C:\Users\Raul\AppData\Local\Temp\bdsandbox

There is no autodelete or something in BD, you'd have to delete it manually.

Firewall issues
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=53519

Firewalls issues are stil unresolved. There were improvements when I uninstalled and re-installed BD IS 2014(again) like when you open Kingsoft applications. It connects and then it disappears in the Process Hacker>Network. Now there is no confirmation if it really got blocked by BD. I am in Paranoid Mode but I seldom see a pop-up. I can't see the logs that specifically says BD blocked a connection. I seem to see that BD allows an application out if you have not set a rule for it. I still have issues when there is an existing DENY rule that is circumvented and still connects still. In post#6 I am in doubt wether BD firewall blocks or allows PotPlayer / GOM Player. The connection stays there much longer. PotPlayer connection will vanish after 20-30sec approx but GOM stays there until it closes. There are no logs that I can check if the action has been really blocked or not as the firewall events does not show it there.

Block An Application From Launching Another Application Etc and Blocking an IP Range.
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=53520
There was a suggestion to block the ports or the dll that's causing such trigger or is the trigger itself but I think that blocking those ports used by the application isn't a viable solution as as you said that it may also be using those ports for updates or the application may just use another port or range of ports to call home. Identifying the "app" or "dll" which is the trigger is I think the best. But this was only good when I tried to block a dll file and I later found out that BD firewall can only block an .exe. See post#6.

Bd Av+ At Boot Up
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=52573&pid=215444&st=40&#entry215444

Have participated in a thread related to slow boot speed but it's the same we are now questioning ourselves IF REALLY when you turn-off the BD Wallet Service it ain't running at all. Slow boot speed and black screen is still unresolved. The verification if the BD Wallet service is still running or not is also not resolved.

Black Screen Boot Delay
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=53268

Participated in this Black screen boot delay which I experienced before but just assumed it to be normal in relation to the boot delay or slow boot speed. No resolution as of the moment.

No replies from the BD devs after telling me to post there when it seemed that the tech support engineer handling my case stopped when he asked me to remove Shadow Defender. Mirabela is also not seen there or replied there.

Have anyone tested 2015 version of the product to check if such issues are fixed?

Not a test but with my Win 7 desktop and BDTS 2014 I was getting up to 30 seconds black screen delay prior to the welcome screen, with BDTS 2015 I was getting up to 20 seconds so my experience is that it hasn't been solved. Oddly enough with my Win 8.1 laptop I get no black screen delay at all with either of the versions.
