Recently, Mozilla announced it would be moving Firefox DNS lookups to Cloudflare by default, for its American audience.

They give the option to choose a different DNS. Just like Firefox does. And unlike Firefox, they default to trying to use DoH for your current system DNS, which isn’t changing anything in terms of centralization.

Windows Hello can now complete payments in Google Chrome

Google has recently started enabling Windows Hello-based payment feature in Chrome for Windows 10. With the new feature, you will be able to use Windows Hello to autofill credit card's CVC numbers, which are found on the back of cards.

You can use DoH through your Default DNS, so the concerns in that article don't apply to anything new.

My favorite part about Google is all the people who championed Gmail and other Google services a decade ago now claim they are the greatest evil. Gotta do what's hip I suppose. Google, just like Comcast, has some fantastic engineers who do very good work. It's unfortunate their suits and marketing guys give them such a black mark and lost our trust.
