You're absolutely right, but this opportunity exists, so why not take advantage of it! ;)
Edge fails to clear cookies for months, I reported it and reported it and I gave up, it was clearly done on purpose. Just like before, temporarily fixed, now happening again.

When I see the default Edge after a clean install, I am like:

I literally can not see the browser through it's features.
I would never use it without policies, it is unthinkable.
I do not have to use policies on other browsers. 🤷‍♂️
The only browser I can use without tweaking is Firefox. It's the winner for that reason, hands down! Word.

It depends on the user, and therefore it is not my case.
My Firefox is significantly hardened.
And I am probably one of the few people in the world who use certain policies in Firefox as well.
Similar to Chrome, the number of policies, not all of which are equally necessary, is the same.

I have tried it; it works.
I also started using it since last night but not via policy. I just enabled it in settings have added quite a few sites into whitelist. In my case, the bug of not deleting some cookies is not happening in this short period of time since I started using it. But portioned cookies of a whitelisted site like "youtube, com" is not deleted for other domains. This is by design I guess.
Another thing I see that if a site is, "www.perplexity.ai" but I add "perplexity.ai" in the "Don't clear" list then it doesn't work (cookies are deleted). I need to add the www part or need to use wildcard. This is the wildcard format: [*.]perplexity.ai.

Hi to all.;)

Guys, I'm curious.
What happens if you close/reopen your browser and enter this:

Code:
edge://history
I'm only deleting cookies with some sites added to the don't clear list. I don't delete anything else, so history remains.

If history is selected, it will be gone.

Yes. Only cookies are set to be deleted when the browser is closed. Though I'm wondering whether I want this option to be always enabled or not.

This is a list of what to delete when you close your browser.
However, not deleting your history when you close your browser is “risky” for your privacy.
At the very least, you can set your policy to not save your history.

It's not an issue for me. I'm actually the opposite. I will always use the same browser on PC and smartphone because I want history and bookmark syncing. I'm even thinking of installing Chrome because the send tabs to other devices feature is working on Edge at the moment. But Chrome doesn't have an option to warn before closing multiple tabs, which is awful IMO.

Because the way that Microsoft designed Edge, full control of ALL Edge settings from a centralized location is only available with a Volume License Enterprise or Government account.

Need a "Configure once and sync it all to multiple devices" solution? Then:

1. Firefox
2. Ungoogle Chromium
3. Vivaldi

@Sampei.Nihira my Guess is that Brave scores better on fingerprinting protection and anti-tracking than Fiorefox (Brave has a few flags to strengthen the fingerprinting protection even more (@Marko :) has posted how to use Brave without the Brave acting as mini-mi Google extra's, but with the benefits of Brave).

Compared to my Firefox, I don't know, you should try it.
You must then provide the AI with all the Arkenfox parameters + the various settings + the settings not included, for example, LNA protections.
And then do the same with your Brave.

There is a new policy in Chrome that has an interesting feature that appears to encrypt the cache used during browsing.
It is interesting to note that even when the SSD is protected by an encryption system, any resident malware could read the browser cache during browsing because it is clear.
If anyone wants to know what this policy is called, I have written it in Notable changes: in my Security Configuration.

I installed it and now I'm waiting for Chrome 146 to come out.:)
