So according to Umut on Comodo forum the new CIS 2025 is still full of bugs as almost none bugs on the bug-list have been resolved and telling the community:

"We have collected 73 bugs and improvement requests from the forum related to CIS Beta and CIS 2025.

We are in the process of organizing and prioritizing all the bugs and requests you have submitted. Which items on this list do you think we should address first? How should we prioritize them? Could you please guide us on this?"

Exactly the same exercise was done 3 years ago and nothing, absolutely nothing has been done to fix those bugs on the list since then.

Comodo is good at keeping the community running like hamsters in a running wheel. Keep on running guys, while we throw dust in your eyes...

Everyone is free to use the software they want.
But as a matter of responsibility, it is undeniable that no software should be used without updates/upgrades, and worse, with hundreds of old dangerous unfixed bugs.
Since 2017 Comodo is an abandonware, it has no real updates/upgrades, the "new" Comodo 2025 is a fraud, it has nothing new, and worse, it accumulates the same bugs since 2017. In this sense, it is immoral to promote or recommend or induce people to use Comodo.
At the official Comodo forum they take every precaution to censor and remove reviews/critics, including deleting bug reports, but there are so many reports that some manage to survive. Adding the officially recognized bugs and the unofficial ones, there are already more than 500 unfixed bugs since 2017:

See here: List of current bugs

And here: List of current bugs discussion

It is a free product with $0 revenue.

So how much should Melih spend to fix bugs? $100,000? $1,000,000? The correct answer for a product with $0 revenue is "Melih should spend as close to $0 as he determines as the product owner."

People are lucky Comodo is willing to have any staff to participate on the forum.

No software publisher is going to spend the money to fix all kinds of bugs on a 100% free product, that is not subsidized by paying consumer subscribers.

Comodo could have 8,987,493,857 bugs and, yet still, millions of people will use it because it is free.

Umut copied bug and feature improvement lists from various sections without filtering out the already-fixed ones. To prevent clutter in the release thread, Comodo staff have repeatedly advised users to create a separate thread for wish lists or reports. Therefore, they removed unnecessary and repetitive posts from the release thread and other sections. Personally, I've stopped posting in the Comodo forums because it's a waste of time. Expect nothing from Comodo; the next CIS update may take a year or two. If you're okay with how Comodo releases, forums, and stuff function, continue using it. Otherwise, find a vendor that matches your needs and preferences.

There are other free products that get updates monthly. If Comodo is compromising on security and usability for users because of money, they should consider closing their business. Why offer Comodo on their website if they can’t maintain it? They should remove those pages and state, “We have 0 income and can’t make good software. Goodbye.”

Other well-known brands like Kaspersky offer the best solutions in the market for free and they indeed fix bugs.

It’s also worth noting that user satisfaction and product reputation can be significant factors. Even for free products, maintaining a certain level of quality can help build trust and potentially lead to future opportunities, such as premium versions or other monetization strategies.

That's the Comodo spirit, let's accumulate bugs and fix one or two to keep few people happy.

Comodo forum? Charade for free.

There are other free products that get updates monthly.
Other vendors use money derived from their paying customers to subsidize the free product's development. More importantly, they use the free product as a "give-a-way" that lures people into buying the product. So there is a revenue stream associated with those free products.

Some people here make the distinction between "free" and "paid" that is not reality. When a "free" product is subsidized with funds generated from the sale of the "paid" product, then its is the paying subscribers who are paying for it.

It is like people in the U.S. paying $89 for a single tablet of medication, but everywhere else in the world the same medication made by the same pharmaceutical manufacturer costs only 25 cents. U.S. residents subsidize the medication of the rest of the world. This same principle applies to Kaspersky, Bitdefender, Avast, etc. The paying subscribers are paying for the development of the "free" product.

Why offer Comodo on their website if they can’t maintain it?
The Comodo products were developed specifically to be given away for $0. The product owner never intended to charge a penny for them from Day 1. Therefore, there was never - ever - going to be an ongoing, reliable revenue stream associated with the product.

No revenue = very few bug fixes. Every single time the product owner diverts or hires developers to work on Comodo, he spends hundreds of thousands of dollars. Plus he pays for the infrastructure and annual related expenses that support the product. Yet he receives $0 revenue for the product.

So again, how much should Melih pay to fix bugs on a product that is only an expense to him and his company?

$100,000, $500,000, $1,000,000?

The correct answer is "Melih should spend as close to $0 as he sees fit."

The reason they don’t have paying consumer subscribers is because their products are not good, their technology is weak compared to others, and they don’t offer value for money.
The product has never been offered as a subscription in an equivalent manner to that of other security software. The "paid" version of Comodo charges a fee that is not for the software. It is for priority support and a malware removal guarantee. This is clearly stated in the Comodo subscription documents.

If he wants his software to stay relevant in a dynamic world, then he will spend whatever he has to spend and will find a way to ensure revenue stream.

If he doesn’t wanna spend and invest, absolutely fine, nobody is forcing him to.
Users need to open their eyes in that case and see that better options exist.

And also, if he doesn’t wanna have his company expensed, then why all the smoke and mirrors? We will release 2025, we will fix bugs… why lie to the users?

I've said in a couple of other threads, I've used Comodo since V3 or V4 - a long time. I haven't a clue about any bugs in the software, since I've never experienced a problem. BUT, all I do is install, set proactive and cs settings, and never touch it again, other than to empty the container if it's been used.

I've used it on either Win95 or 98 and on every version to now on Win 12 - with the exceptions of Win2000 and WindowsME and on several different brands of lap and desktops. I've never had a problem of any kind with Comodo, I think because I use the minimalist approach that the less you screw with it, the better it works.

At some point during the journey, long ago, I quit using their antivirus and relied solely on the firewall. Regardless, it's protected my various systems totally.

People can harangue and say whatever they want. It's worked for me for decades and that is enough to convince me to continue to use it. I don't visit specious sites any more. I did long ago, not knowing any better and downloaded all sorts of software just because it was available for free (pirated)., The computer was never infected, although I cannot say any of that software was or not since I only had a vague notion of what malware was. Regardless, IF any of it was, the firewall protected me, and no I don't remember anything unusual or out of the ordinary happening.

So, Comodo 2025 is full of old and probably some new bugs. I don't care. If you just set it and forget it you'll probably never experience any of the alleged problems.

When considering resource usage Comodo wins hands down compared to it`s bloated system hog competitors. So what if there`s still a few bugs to iron out the protection is stellar considering it`s free.

The previous verion of CIS did create a bit of drag for me but the latest version is causing no such problems proving that there has indeed been some under the hood improvements.

I always come back to Comodo it works well for me and quite a few others.

Keep up the good work cruelsistor, can`t wait for the next video.

Regards Eck:)

Exactly. On this system, Comodo is using roughly 30MB. That, by itself is a plus. Everybody doesn't have 16GB or 32GB of memory. There are those of us who have other expenses, and have to buy lower end rigs with 8GB - which not that long ago was the standard.

I haven't tried Avira in many years. As I recall, long ago, it was rated fairly high. For whatever reason, it just didn't appeal to me. Then, I think I favored AVAST, or AVG, or another free whose name I can't recall.

I found the free version of AVG too much like scareware with upgrade pop ups etc. Avira is much less naggy and set and forget like CFW.

It`s good to shut up windows security as well which helps.

I fail to understand your logic. The company behind Comodo is a large company. Offering a free product does not mean they should not invest in it. The bugs cause system issues. Unpatched vulnerabilities are a security risk. Leaving those unpatched and unfixed, especially by a security company, is pure irresponsibility.

Firefox is free, does this mean that Mozilla should not pay a dollar to fix vulnerabilities and bugs?
