Comodo has a tiny number of bypasses whereas all the other AVs have many. At least here on MT, when a problem with Comodo is reported the outcry is disproportionate to the problem.

And I suspect that's why CS left. Every other AV has had reports of bypasses through the time I've been here. Mostly they've been discussed and people moved on. Comodo has something mentioned and the usual crowd of 'experts' appear with their comments. The sad part is Cruelsister knew more than just Comodo, and it's a shame to lose that expertise.

well, i agree that some get crazy about anything related to cis and thats a shame. i dont know the real reason that makes her leave mt but one can agree that these inflamed comments by the "cis union of crazy experts" are getting too far... people need to have feeling about what they say/write for others... i, myself, am learning to be a bit more ... in this line ... here on mt.

Pretty sure she once said she quit and wouldn't make videos and actually didn't for a very long time but eventually came back and I'm certain she will again and no matter if she does or not I still use comodo with her config on majority of PCs I have and her videos helped a lot to find a software that are good better and wich worse and what second opinions are superior to others
(Kaspersky and Norton power eraser did the best against worms )

Well I hope Cruelsistor will still make the occasional video and post it here. Her settings are now part of the Comodo landscape as I now use them as a standard when setting up Comodo on my own systems or somebody elses.

As stated a la Bazang you get a lot with Comodo for zero dinero especially if it`s configered for optimim protection. So I`m still enjoying this free lunch.

Still no IPV6 attack to report.

i dont think its the case and i dont mention names. what i see is that there is many who just talk trash about anything related to cis. i dont know... i just think that people could try to think a little bit more and realize that its a software, only a software... you know...

Microsoft Defender + modified Cruelsister settings.

The default Comodo Firewall settings with the below changes:

Comodo will work in Cruelsister settings only for applications with less than 1-day file age. This will help Microsoft Defender detect 0-day threats after a one-day delay.

The "All Applications" file group doesn't work with the "File age" criteria. It didn't work when I tested it with the previous Comodo version. This could be a bug or a design issue. Have you tested it?

Repetitive questions, already answered by Melih and his team, are polluting the forums. That's good; they're banning those users. Comodo operates on a default-deny principle. Following the Comodo suite's introduction, the antivirus became secondary. Users shouldn't expect detection to improve. I wish dissatisfied users would abandon Comodo, causing significant losses for the company!

Comodo is Melih's brainchild... If you want to make a difference with Comodo, your best bet is to say "I do" to Melih and hope for an infinitesimal chance to co-parent Comodo!

The "All Applications" file group doesn't work with the "File age" criteria. It didn't work when I tested it with the previous Comodo version. This could be a bug or a design issue. Have you tested it?

I tested that setup (Serious Discussion - Comodo Internet Security 2025 was obliterated by an exploit!) and it works on my machine (Cloud lookup enabled). I used the newly created files (compiled on my machine). Most files downloaded from the Internet are not new to Comodo (even if Unrecognized), so the 1-day limit will not block them. On the contrary, the 0-day malware will be contained in one day. Also, non-0-day malware can be contained in one day if it is unknown in the Comodo cloud (not submitted). However, such malware will be mainly detected by Microsoft Defender.

An antivirus module was a part of the original Comodo design specification, but as Melih explained over 10 years ago, the signatures are meant - purposely designed - to detect only very old malware. He said back then he is not going to invest the money into a team whose job is going to be creating new signatures. In short, he did/does not want to spend the money.

This all goes back to Comodo being a software with $0 revenue to support its features. What money it (and Xcitium) receive to pay for them comes out of Melih's own personal pocket.

Any software as complex as CIS/Xcitium with $0 revenue is always going to have a LOT of problems.

I know someone is going to say that Xcitium has subscribers but that software probably does not even have 350,000 Euros revenue. In order for a software to support itself, for every 2 to 3 employees supporting it, it must have at least 750,000 Euros in revenue. With inflation, I would raise that number to 1,000,000 or 1,250,000 Euros.

First off, it is completely wrong to categorize those you disagree with as trolls. But that is how the snowflake internet now works.

Well, the problems demonstrated do exist however these people still do not understand that Melih is not going to go out of his way to fix them because that money comes out of his own pocket. Nobody pays for Comodo except for Melih himself. What little revenue @Xcitium receives is not nearly enough to make any kind of difference in the product development. Complaining users need to start sending donations, but they will not. They just expect Melih to pay for it all.

It is unclear in your post, who these people are (those who made videos or those who left MT ). Let's make it clearer: @Andy Ful understands Melih well.
Furthermore, I do not think that Melih would be obliged to do more to improve CIS (not paid) even if he had more money. Did other vendors cover all attack vectors in the free AVs?
Of course, people still have the right to be disappointed. However, we should discuss how justified this disappointment is (we did it in a few threads).

Melih has the money. He justifiably does not want to spend it. His product. He gets to do with it what he wants to do and what he does not want to do.

So people complaining about Comodo is pointless. Melih could care less. He has said so himself what Comodo haters and detractors think.

The only thing that results from Comodo complaints is further quadrupling-down by Melih that he is not going to fix stuff. Or else he will just drag his feet on fixing stuff, if he fixes it at all. As far as antivirus improvement, that is never going to happen because Melih's ideology is that antivirus is fundamentally the problem in the first place.
