Are we all ready to see the Brand New Comodo Internet Security 10 with Secure Shopping?

We’re so very excited to share with you the Beta version of our brand new release ; our new born CIS V10.0.0.6071 Beta ! We have worked on a number of new features and improvements according to your feedback and finally we are ready to share with you our brand new version !

Seamless Protection Shield: We Default Deny Unknowns

As a core element of Comodo Internet Security seamless protection, Default Deny Platform is now even more improved and easy to use.

In order to increase the user experience as well as providing the full protection, one of the most important points is also giving the right verdict to the files. CIS stores ratings of a file from a user, other sources, and cloud as separate data fields with their own time-stamp. CIS combines all those fields to the final rating on the fly. This allows understanding why we trust the file and when each component of this decision had been got.

CPU Enforced OS Virtualization

Run any file virtually; no matter if it is a harmful file or not. It can not harm your your PC.

Virtual Desktop: Leave your computer to your Children or Novice Users without a doubt!

Virtual Desktop creates a safe play zone for children as well as yourself. Whenever they download games or run an application, they also might change the wallpaper, default font sizes etc. They even may pick up viruses in the process of web surfing! For parents to change and undo these actions, sandbox and virtual desktop would be a useful tool for their safety. While they exit the Virtual desktop, they will be able to reset the inside content so that will get rid of any malicious application / file.

When a user (an adult or a child) install a new software product on the computer, part of the product are placed all over your computer’s hard drive; special supporting files are place in certain directories of the operating system, and other shortcut and setting files are scattered in various places on their hard drive. These are in addition to the main folder that is installed on their hard drive with the software programs. Most software will uninstall easily, but often pieces of the product are left behind on the hard drive. These leftover pieces of orphaned software can build up and slow down computer. The end result is that installing new software on your computer can be a risky thing to do. Some software products include hidden viruses or other bad programs as users install them, with the help of the Sandbox technology people will be able to download and run the application on a virtual environment so that will get no harm by locking the application and all the threats into a virtual jail.

Be Safe Online

Stay home and Shop & Bank online securely. When you shop & bank online inside Secure Shopping environment, your security and privacy is guaranteed. Not only while browsing in the internet, doing online shopping and banking but also while running VPN clients and file sharing clients such as Dropbox and any shopping app inside Secure Shopping.

Secure Shopping environment is not a Virtual Desktop. There are other solutions on the market which claims giving you online protection in a sandboxed environment. We can assume these systems are:
  • Secure Shopping: A castle protecting you from outside / online threats
  • Virtual Desktop: A jail where all threats are prisoned so that no harm can happen to your PC

What is Secure Shopping?

Comodo Secure Shopping is one new major feature in CIS 10 which provides unbeatable security for online banking and shopping sessions. When using Secure Shopping, websites will open inside a security-hardened virtual environment which is isolated from the rest of your computer. This creates a threat resistant tunnel between you and your target website which cannot be monitored or attacked by any other processes running on your computer.
  • Connect to sensitive websites from inside a dedicated, security-hardened environment.
  • Key-logger prevention stops hackers from recording your keystrokes.
  • Built in antivirus blocks online viruses, worms and Trojans.
  • Takeover protection warns you if there is a remote connection to your computer- Prevents hackers and malware taking screenshots of your session
  • Blocks man-in-the-middle attacks by detecting fake SSL certificates
  • Process isolation hides sensitive personal data from other processes.
But Secure Shopping isn't just for the internet! You can now run any application you want inside the secure environment to protect it from hostile processes.

We have 3 new features in Secure Shopping compared to previous Beta Version:

  1. Run applications installed on your endpoint
    • Users have the ability to run not only browsers but any application in Secure Shopping. The protection set for applications opened in Secure Shopping are:
      • Process isolation (Anti Injection)
      • Keyboard protection
      • Copy/Paste protection
      • Desktop isolation
      • Remote check
      • Screen capture protection
  2. Remote Connection Protection
    • Users receive an alert if CIS detects a remote connection during a Secure Shopping session.
  3. Screenshot Protection
    • Any screenshots taken of the Secure Shopping environment will be automatically blacked-out, preventing hackers and malware from taking captures of sensitive online information.

A Brand New User Interface
We focused on increasing the simplicity, usability and the consistency with our new user interface design. In every step ; we pay attention to make a product that is user-friendly. We have tried to provide you the best user experience on this full protection product, Comodo Internet Security V10 ! It is now even more powerful with its new tools.

Installed CFW Only.
Installation was smooth & fast (Online Installer)
No offline installer. But atleast with online installer you can untick Comodo Dragon, GeekBuddy to not download.

Secure Shopping seems to be with Suite only, not there with CFW only.

One thing I dont understand, why they didn't add the option "Ask for Untrusted"?
They have added options like "Run Unlimited", "Run Unlimited & Trust", etc BUT no "Ask for Untrusted"???

They say CCAV is easy & light for average users & CCAV have "Ask for Untrusted" for average users???
The option is not there in CIS that has modules, advanced settings, etc???
Where's the logic damn???

And I think Internet Security Essential should be implemented in CIS instead of separate install i.e ISE has a separate uninstall entry in Programs/Features.
ISE is one of the important protection feature for Secure Shopping, MITM, etc.

64 Bits Win 10 here.
CIS is installed in Programs Files
ISE is installed in Programs Files (86)

In previous version I use to set AutoSandbox option from "Internet" to "Any", how to do that in this version?

And yet, despite all the countless requests, they still haven't changed the behavior of unrecognized files. Instead of giving user the ability to get notification on EVERY unrecognized file (like in CCAV), you simply can't do that in CIS. You can only have that for apps that require admin rights, everything else will always get sandboxed directly. It's really annoying, we've been asking for this feature and instead of frigging implementing it already, they prefer to ban people. ...

In previous version I use to set AutoSandbox option from "Internet" to "Any", how to do that in this version?
as far as I know, the only way to do that with recent versions of COMODO is by switching your configuration. If you switch to proactive config, then you will get global autosandbox protection.

what do you guys say about this new beta? any major problems?
