Hello,
if it can help you can install Adguard for Windows from its GitHub webpage, not the msi installer but the executable AdGuard-7.20.2-.4988.exe below "Assets" at Releases · AdguardTeam/AdguardForWindows
I don't know if it could work for you but it could worth a try. AdGuard for Windows 7.20.2 is the latest stable build, not a beta or nightly.
Thanks , but ii already know this, and i prefer MSI package , so i can know every executable inside the principal excutable when i run a package ^^

I am completely missing your point. I thought we were talking about the Adguard .msi installer not working. It is not working for me either, on a clean installation of Windows, with no other software installed, including CyberLock. So I am totally baffled by the pictures. If you want me to look into this more, please provide details. Does anyone else know what he means?

If you are wanting to test without CyberLock being active, don't mess with the CyberLockService... simply right click on CyberLock and choose Exit CyberLock.

Hello, there is a conflict with windows installer in the services system with the last version on windows 11, no msi can't be installed after this , like adguard for exemple.
Hi Dan,
it seems that his issue isn't restricted to Adguard msi installer only but with ever MSI installer he tries to run. There are many reasons that could prevent a MSI installer to work correctly, of course. I'm not a technician but by doing a search of Google there are a lot of different results Google Search I don't think the issue is due to CyberLock but I can suggest to Fan-of-spyshelter user to check CyberLock' user log if he notices something weird. Lastly if he thinks that the reason is due to CyberLock he can simply uninstall it and run the MSI installers again, even if, as you say, exiting from Cyberlock without uninstalling it would be enough.

Thank you for the info! I installed 24H2 to test, is this the screen you are seeing? If so, it is not a CyberLock block, you can verify by exiting out of CyberLock and trying again... you will see the same message. If you are seeing a different message, can you please post a screenshot?
I just noticed that he didn't reply to your question and frankly I don't understand what the screenshots he posted are related to. Also capturing the screenshots with Microsoft Snipping Tool or other software would have helped.
[edit] I barely managed to see "Windows Installer Error 5: access denied" in picture 3.screenshot so by restricting the search on Google there are still many results msi "error 5" - Recherche Google

Hello, CyberLock's programmer, Dan, is located in USA so it will take some more hours for him to respond. In the meantime I suggest you to also check CyberLock's user log in settings, if you notice something weird, and also the whitelist (Liste blanche). You have to right click on CyberLock taskbar icon then Settings - User log (Paramètres de CyberLock - Journal de l'utilisateur in your language.)

I still have no idea what @Fan-of-spyshelter is trying to convey... if anyone has any ideas please let me know... I would be more than happy to help.

The two things we know for sure are this...

1) The .msi file that @Fan-of-spyshelter was having issues with does not install on a brand new installation of Windows 10 or 11. There must be a bug in the installer.
2) CyberLock has zero issues with all other .msi files we have tested. In fact, it does not even have an issue with the .msi file that @Fan-of-spyshelter posted.

Hello every body :D

well i beleive my question is quite difficult to understand, but let's have more picture right ? ^^

Mister Avethil - i need an expert , you are not enough expert for me to resolve my problem,
because i feel like i am talking with a service client when you respond to me, i am way far beyond that ^^
but thanks for your help and it's ok mister Dan, can answer me in the time he want, i am not in a hurry :)

so let's be serious, ...

that is what i have discovered and i think the responsible of the problem is VSScanner (kernel mod driver even my cyberlock is in training mode)

step by step...

1. after ressetting my whitelist i had 106 snapschot + 4 auto allowed (training mode) rule = 110 rules.

Double Screenshot before - after (training mode) - 10H16PM.png

2. i used process monitor to capture all the executions (api and memory call) with cyberlock.exe, cyberlockservice.exe, msiexec.exe

Process monitor - (cyberlock, cyberlockservice, msiexec) no profiling.png

3. finally a comming answer ( a not normal exit statut by another process)

Process exit because VSScanner (but i don't know where).png

so there is a hook but this hook come from VSS and i am not the creator of this mini filter so i suggest to see in this sys drive
now i hope the creator or his mandatory could help me...

and another optional question,
Mister Dan, do you send the developperlog automaticaly to your professionnal structur or private aera from any registered user ?

if yes, can i suggest to you to give us a checkbox on cyberlock to consent to this ? because my system has verry senstive informations
and i am professionnaly exposed because i have european responsabilities ^^

see you to a next answer :)

It appears there's a problem with the AdGuard MSI installer. Installation failed on a clean Win 11 setup with no third-party security programs. It displays an administrative permissions error and recommends using the standard installer from their website.

To the skeptical person regarding my 'confusing' request... I invite you to read between the lines to understand what I truly said, and take a deep breath before replying. That's a genuine piece of advice. ^^

I mentioned that AdGuard was just an example. I provided the specifications of my Windows version, and I am now certain that VSScanner is responsible for the exit status of msiexec.exe. This is not just about satisfying me; it's relevant for all Windows users who will have the same version as mine, since my Windows version is neither a beta nor an Insider version.

Believe it or not, I trust Dan's work, and that's precisely why I asked this crucial question. Normally, I receive a notification, but in this specific situation (as I explained in detail), there was no notification for blocking or installing.

I tested it with another MSI app (FTK Manager), and I am planning anyway to purchase a lifetime license of cyberlock.

Big thanks for your criticism. I hope it was helpful for you now that all is clear.

I've specified on my post above that I'm not a technician (post #124), maybe you didn't read it. I'm just a CyberLock' s user and I was only trying to help you. I'm not a expert like you but at least you learned how to make a decent screenshot by using Microsoft Snipping Tool like I suggested, no offense. Still I wonder why msi installers work fine for meand not for you. Post #129, after running msi installers the CyberLock's user log shows that they were auto allowed or user allowed, I got a CyberLock popup alert for the latter on bottom right of the screen, maybe you didn't see because it was covered by some SpyShelter popup ? Mine is just a assumption, as I wrote I'm not a technician.
Also Dan didn't have any issue with them (post#128). I really hope he can solve your issue, not a easy task as Oldie1950 user wrote.

" I got a CyberLock popup alert for the latter on bottom right of the screen, maybe you didn't see because it was covered by some SpyShelter popup ?"

MEN .... REALLY ?
OH GOSH

You,

see that the training mode is visible right, so please watch all the details before speaking, is not about user logs or permission, the problem is the interaction with my kernel system...

Meaby you would like a video clip in 4 K ?

Mr Dan said something ... it's ok, but ... i have authentical proof, doubt is permitted right ?, you are on a security forum with technicals questions, don't base you on the appearance of the people, go deep.....

--------- now hear me , it's the begining of a mutual respect. --------

Ok, you are in level 2, let me level you up .... ok ? so we can communicating on the same vibration, and i have no level (so you must understand i am not a competitor)

introduction :

cyberlock -> is the commander in auto pilot mode / in training mode (i am normally the commander)
cyberlockservice -> the communicator who profiling the event constantly without interruption
Vsscanner -> the executor quarantine or not quarantine (not with a user interaction only the service software)

historical :

step by step i will tell you how cyberlock from voodooshield analyse a knowing extension file, this is the way every security software does !

1) from cyberlockservices.exe (a constant profiling of all physicale or logical interactions between the system
and the user in two direction praticaly simultanously or not)

But an executor can only execute what is come from the commander right ? to stay legal i mean...

so

1.1) in the first thing come
create file -> query network footprint from the beginning of the instruction of MSIEXEC.EXE (format) -> closing file

1.2) in the second thing come
create file -> reading all the MSIEXEC.EXE file (offset and lenght) (hash) -> closing file

1.3) In the last thing come
create file -> query network footprint from the finishing of the instruction of MSIEXEC (signature) -> closing file

2) Cyberlock.EXE need to think by me, but no notification !! (Because cyberlock goes to autopilot mode BY IT SELF) ?? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE ? & WHY ? (this is not the fault of me as a user)

2.1) sending to local or/and external database IP adress because of this autopilot mode : [ 1.1) & 1.2) & 1.3) ]

AS a european citizen i need to protect my interest we have a law calling RGPD in french (Reglement Générale sur la Protection des Données)
that is why i had my urgent question to ask. i used cyberlock now from long time ago, it 's the first time i have an issue with cyberlock.

that is why i came ask for help with an expert !

*this conclude to the first part of my capture with process monitor* :

i dont need to tell the second part
but to resume what happened, without notification ....
______________________________________

sending a positve blocking respons to cyberlockservice and goes trough a Downlevel, on VSScanner
(suspending the NtOsKrnl) with an instruction in the memory allocated by a Ox24cb (witch come from VSScanner), making an exit error to MSIEXEC.EXE.

Finally Understood ?

Good !

@Fan-of-spyshelter You should be still respectful to others here in the forum even if you aren't satisfied with responses from them, no need to create drama...

Sorry , as non-expert I don't understand nothing of what you write and the fact is that CyberLock is not working for you only. Even Dan, which is CyberLock programmer, (we can consider him a expert, right ?) has difficulty to understand what you are trying to demonstrate. Anyway I've already wasted too much time in trying to help you, it's not worth it.
