For me, screen resolution can make a difference. On my notebooks dark mode is fine, but on my desktop PC monitor (older, lower resolution) I have to use light mode as the text can be harder to read. There isn't enough sharp and clear contrast to easily see and read things.
Google Chrome is working on a new experimental feature, Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents, to apply dark mode support to every site on the web.
