Advice Request Do i really need G-Data extension?

Hi guys, i use Vivaldi and the new microsoft edge browsers and they are not supported by G-Data. i want to know if i will lose any protection without the extension or not?

I would say you don't.

If gdata can't protect you without such, it's not worth it

i have used gdata and yes you do in the security program settings hit extensions and see to install for google or edge ect and then will tell you installed
they have improved a lot with there extension so web pages are not slow like it used to be

In my experience the extension slows down browsing a bit. You can keep it if it doesn't hamper speed for you.

I believe it is time for security vendor to ditch browser extensions. Eset, Bullguard and Bitdefender do not install extensions. Extension usually slow down browsing speed and usually not available in all browsers.
