Yes, comodo defiantly belongs in the toilet last time i had faith in this product was probably 2011 but even after years no AV improvement and the software is buggy as hell. You cant tell me after all these years comodo couldn't have at least tried to get a team together to improve it's AV. The CEO back in the day always put stuff out that they would improve the AV but it was nothing but false statements. Will it protect your computer? Absolutely but the average user would rage quit this software by not being user friendly.

What he said was that the AV module is there as a convenience for users; the AV was intended by design to detect older malware so that the user does not have to go through the process of contending with auto-sandboxed old malware.

Will it protect your computer? Absolutely
Well then that is all that matters at the moment of truth, right? I would not say it protects absolutely but as close as a user can get without locking down each account system wide.

but the average user would rage quit this software by not being user friendly.
This is a generic statement that applies to all security software. Amongst consumers (non-enterprise), security software is a product group with amongst the highest number of complaints - to include poor usability, too many bugs, broken or ineffectual functionality, poor support and other complaints without regard to any specific publisher.

if you didn't see it, earlier today, cruelsister posted a video installing CF 2025 with her settings. The GUI is just different enough that I found the video helpful (or I had missed a setting or 2 installing CF before seeing the video) of course, you may have hit all the marks. :)
PS (not a fanboy just "testing" it in VM) fwiw, I tried running firefox "in comodo container" right-click context menu, and firefox froze, had to kill it with task manager.
Yeah, I've adjusted my settings to her latest, with the exception of keeping HIPS activated. I might turn off HIPS later, but for now no problem. I run Firefox. Working fine here. No trouble at all in the container.

Using Comodo, along with some other tools. It's light and with a little investment on the front end is very effective. It could be much better, which is a little frustrating, but I still recommend this program for anyone who does not mind doing a little front end work and who doesn't mind thinking a little bit when an alert appears.

I want to care. I tried Comodo with CS settings. I believe Comodo has/had great potential. Building upon the shoulders of that great Firewall portion of Comodo, they could achieve great things.

But it seems as lack of time, resources, desire, and having an honest opinion of oneself has destroyed a once great opportunity.

If only those in control of Comodo would say, we have an opportunity here to make something great. Lets fix all the flaws, incorporate new technology, along with some fresh ideas, and make a Steller product, moving us into first place. But alas maybe this is for the mindset of a younger man (individual)

Well said. Kind of cringy, but Comodo is good enough to use in its current form, so I keep thinking that someone will come along to take it to the heights where it should reside with reliable features and tools. So maybe the longer Comodo is there and usable, the better the odds someone will come along and choose to make it great?

Maybe if we ask really nicely...OK,, please, Comodo, bestow upon us the truly great version of your firewall security program. You can do it so let's go! 😁‼️🇨🇭
