Eventually everything digital will be hacked or accessible , your income tax records, your health records, passwords, user accounts for every store you have ever shopped at, everything, and there will nothing you can do about it as these companies are either too cheap or too incompetent to protect our information properly. The only protection we will have is the sheer volume of information out there and the very slim chance someone picks yours to take advantage of.

The only way through this mess is mass obfuscation and poisoning data wells, create so much slop and fake junk data that your real data is lost in the haystack.

You can go full mirimir and PGP/TOR your way through life but I don't think that got him far in the end.

Most high value targets live in non-extradition countries, but there is also secret rendition if your that bad but they are not worried like the rest of us.

My pension scheme was broken into a while ago & info regarding myself disappeared into the ether, steps have now been taken by the very large company who held this data to prevent this happening again which I must say is a bit late... However????

Yeah corporations or businesses don't care, even the lawsuits after the breech they settle with the class action. It's a cost of doing business.

Pension fund is not too bad, as long as no money was taken. Health data on the other hand is unforgivable That I would never forgive but finance is a bit meh!

There was a lot of personal data taken, no money but I've had bank accounts etc set up in my name etc, all have been resolved but it does influence me has to how much I trust companies to look after my data, which is little, however I live on & not worth fretting about!
