Yes they are decent, but they don't allow torrent's on USA servers, most VPN's won't mind you.

Check out BolehVPN & Mullvad like I said, they are very well respected in the VPN community and have been tried and tested.

Will do! Are you sure they arent also keeping logs too?

Also the a VPN service although is encrypted it can know what sites we are visting and what we ar downlaoding right? I mean they unencrypt the traffic when it reaches to them to snet it out to th ent right?

Mullvad & BolehVPN do not keep logs. I'm 100% sure of that, the safer option is Mullvad because they are located in SWE and have stringent privacy laws.

Yes the VPN can see what your downloading if their not honest & sneeky. The two I listed are respected for not doing that, but here comes a warning: With any anonymity service that keeps no logs you will be in the company of people doing illegal things like hacking, malware, spam, child porno etc.. So be warned you will be in some not so nice company!

Your ISP will just see a connection to the VPN though the traffic will be encrypted which is what you want.

So the ISP wont know the sites iam visiting since this info will be encrypted right?
They just see a connection to a vpn service only?

Also what about ISP's DNS servers that we use to translate host to numeric ip addresses? Wont they see the dns requests?

What do you mean by that? How can that have impact on me?
Sure hackers and illegal porno watchers use the same VPN service but what will have to do with me using the same VPN as with them?

Yes they will only see your connection to the VPN. Everything will be encrypted.

DNS is a tricky one, if your VPN is setup right you will have the VPN's DNS stats too. But sometimes your real DNS can leak so you need to make sure it isn't by testing out the service. Mullvad offers a free trial so download their client and have a test ride. Most VPN's have trial/1 day accounts now so you can test if their up to scratch or not.

One thing you need to be aware of, if the authorities want to get your IP address, then they will get it no matter what you may do to try to hide it.

Professional hackers and website attackers use all types of masking applications like VPN's, proxies, fake IP's, etc. and they get caught and arrested all the time.

Illegal websites, malware distribution sites and torrent sites use the same methods and get shutdown and owners get arrested all the time.

So if you are doing something that will strike up the attention of the authorities and they want to get your IP address then they can get it.

Thanks.:D

I'm curious, if you have all bittorrent traffic encrypted, how do the authorities know what you downloaded or is that not possible?

The authorities can decrypt data but it costs money and time. If you are just an average torrent downloader, they probably will not try to decrypt your data.

But if you are a heavy torrent downloader or uploader and you have already got their attention, they maybe already in the process of recording and decrypting your data. Of coarse for them to actually charge you with a crime, they will have to file a search warrant for probable cause, take your system and verify that the files are there using computer forensics applications that can detect deleted data as well as present data. Once they verify that illegal files exists on your system then you are in big trouble. Sometimes ISP's work with authorities because heavy torrent traffic hurts their bandwidth and causes their other customers to have slow connection speeds. So when their customs use a very large bandwidth in torrent traffic, they simple report them to the authorities for investigation.

Of coarse just because someone is a heavy torrent downloader, doesn't mean they are doing something illegal. Many applications like PC games use BitTorrent to deliver updates, patches, etc. Many software vendors distribute their products with BitTorrent.

Enjoy!!:D

I am a novice in bittorrent (both technically & quantity of up/downloading), far from being a "heavy" downloader and i've never created a torrent EVER!
I mainly get e-books and graphics like wallpapers or pictures ect. but I still don't like being spied on or watched ya know.

One other thing...If I ever go to a public tracker and dl something, I NEVER seed after it's finished regardless of what it is.
I know some hard core torrenters would look down upon that but I don't care, it's my freedom not their's.

Please don't spread FUD and post about free VPN's they are useless. Also THEY DO KNOW your downloading torrents on USA servers because they get copywrite infringment notices,

99% of all VPN's will not allow torrents on USA servers, all reputable VPNS don't and only allow on offshore servers.

Here are some non-logging VPN providers that offer alternative payment methods:
Perfect Privacy (Liberty Reserve, WebMoney, Paysafecard, mail-in cash)
Cryptocloud (BitCoin, Liberty Reserve, mail-in cash)
Cryptohippie (BitCoin, mail-in cash)
Mullvad (BitCoin, mail-in cash)
Air VPN (Bitcoin)
nVpn (BitCoin, Liberty Reserve)
VersaVPN (BitCoin, Liberty Reserve)
oVPN.to (BitCoin, Liberty Reserve, WebMoney, Paysafecard, Ukash)
inCloak (Liberty Reserve, WebMoney)
Insorg (Liberty Reserve, WebMoney)
SecretsLine (Liberty Reserve, WebMoney, Ukash)
DoubleVPN (Liberty Reserve, WebMoney, Perfect Money)
V.I.P. (Liberty Reserve, WebMoney, Perfect Money)
Many of these also take PayPal, AlertPay, direct credit card payments, or other payment methods as well.
