Even dropping a 90 cents on Cylance Smart AV is money wasted, better go buy a cheeseburger. I still have a subscription running from last year, and my take is that even free Windows Defender which comes with Windows 10 is much "smarter" than Cylance Smart AV. They struggle a lot with false positives from Steam games and constantly flagging by-windows changed system files, e.g. "ndis.sys". It's been nearly a year and they haven't done nothing to improve Home version of Cylance. You've been warned.

Even if you buy from Europe, you still have access to community posts. Topics – Cylance Home Support

no i can't buy it for germany...region locked...same result @ amazon.com for cyclance :cautious:
I am in EU/Baltics. Use U.S VPN to buy. After that you put in you redeem code from StackSocials to Cylance | Redeem Your Code and set up an account for Cylance, after that you don't need to use VPN anymore to install/view dashboard/access community topics. It works.

Great deal for Cylance.

Cylance is great for what it does.

And what it does is identify new types of malware by machine-learning alone.

Cylance is built on recognizing patterns of malware. So malware might enter a machine, attempt to turn off a Windows protect element, self-replicate, launch a payload…. And the Cylance model is good at recognizing malware behavior. Most products now have multiple layers… but many still fall back on the signature model. Cylance abandoned the malware signature model. Cylance has built a better algorithm to recognize malware by what the malware is doing.

This is from iT-CUBE, a German test organization. This is a previous proprietary test result.

Cylance went from being brand-new to being possibly #7 in AV market share in just a few years.

I run it with 3 different AVs (on different machines) with no issues.

Being that it is a behavior-based product, it does have more false positives than other products.

No they haven't, that's what they want you as a customer to believe. They still need new SHA256 for every new file changed, or potentionally malware which is NOT recognized by Cylance, and reporting undetected "samples" takes more than week up to a month to be "analyzed" by their "specialists" which later adds it to their "signature" list. Model update is their dirty wording secret behind newly added "signatures". FAQ - File Analysis
We can send the file to our Threat Guidance team to potentially be addressed in an upcoming model update.

How did they perform the tests?
