Because I use them when I help people out and saves me 3 or 4 steps.I can throw them on a usb stick and dont have to always go to the official site to grab them.So since I was uploading them to my mediafire account I thought I would post them here and save someone the trip to the official site.I have always done that this way because you used to have to have a username and password to download them.Since I always have Eset trial keys I could always download them.I do the same with Avira,Kaspersky Installers

They are the Installers obtained from here; http://www.eset.com/us/

P

Plexx

A new release for version 5 which basically refers to Windows 8 Compatibility. True that version 5 has nothing to be fixed so if its not broken, don't fix it.

However I say it over and over again, they have a major flaw and that flaw is carried on version 6:

ESET HIPS on default mode is turned on and set on Automatic mode: Follow rules, if no rules match, allow.

Only rule is to load drivers.

So what is the exact point of having one of the zero day protection modules turned on by default on Automatic mode?

Surely changing the default to learning mode is far more recommended because once the default 14 days expire, user will get a pop up to change the mode. Tho I would rather move it to 2 days max for a new user.

This is not really an issue for advanced users but if ESET wants to stand up within the crowd, they ought to change some of the default settings.

Everyone knowns the true potential of their HIPS component on Policy based mode (my last video shows it), but really, if they were to leave on default automatic, they would be better off add a BB as opposed to HIPS when they first thought of the idea.

/rant end.
