If you can purchase an appliance you would have all the emulation done locally wich is a far better experience
anyway I recommend looking for the full product for those who can as you get many more layers and checkpoint is actually pretty good at everything from firewalls to mail security and probably the best vendor if you're looking for one that does everything and since the heavy lifting is done locally in enterprises in a special appliance that they even designed the silicone for it so it should be very quick and secure

So if you're sn enterprise please look for a shop that sells the full product
One that is in this fourm is https://malwaretips.com/members/trident.99014/ who has actually designed a some incredible policy's for checkpoint and prove in tests excellent results with the machine staying clean (possible optimized profile would have had similar results )
But better look at lab tests and mitre 2024 MITRE ATT&CK® Evaluations
They usually post lab results and research done in their blog https://blog.checkpoint.com/
They usually get in labs either perfect or near perfect results and that is done in default , optimized profiles meanwhile enterprises would actually run a more hardened profile, policy then what's done in test and you can try yourself as they have trials for every one of their products

But if you prefer just the extension in an enterprise (would recommend getting the full product instead )
You can purchase https://www.checkpoint.com/harmony/advanced-endpoint-protection/browser-security/ and I would recommend an appliance too to get faster emulation and extraction

The aim of the open source extension being linked was meant for only testing some capabilities of checkpoint products before consumers try zone alarm wich I each time highly recommended and is actually cheaper with coupons then some less advanced av products
The checkpoint threat emulation and extraction is both more advanced then liveguard advanced that eset uses and you can get zone alarm , checkpoint enterprise products cheaper then liveguard equivalent just as an example of being cheaper then some av products I really love

Renewal or coupon ZafiR to get your whole family covered for 18$ with the same technologies used in the enterprise products

If I remember correctly a single license of ESET costs more for non liveguard versions then what you can get for checkpoint zonealarm with threat emulation and extraction oh and if you want to try zonealarm for free you can use the beta as the beta program is currently free or the trial

So basically there are different options no matter if you're a poor consumer or a business that looks to get some of the best options to secure everything and is good at everything

But if you're a consumer looking for an API key to try threat emulation for the extension alone you can send me a private message and if you find it useful you always have the cheap coupon to get the full product which is superior then the extension alone

Okay, now i test it in Edge.
That's my settings.

No reaction on test page.

If I refresh the page in the settings, it asks for admin email and doesn't respond to fake data.

It does not save the content filter settings after restarting.

I was actually able to reproduce that bug on a low end laptop if it ever happens just redownload the extension not sure what exactly causes it to happen and it's only reproducible in low end machines

If anyone needs an API key for threat emulation and extraction he can dm me
(obviously if you like the product please purchase it)
you mean purchase Harmony? I do have Harmony on another VM. I tried to locate my API key in my paid Harmony and it was sufficiently buried and integrated into Harmony that I could not find it. You and I discussed this before. Not a criticism, just pointing it out. If Checkpoint is making its extension available in online browser stores, GREAT! but I guess threat emulation is not included for free??

Yes it was an option for only those who can't purchase it to share mine and you will have reduced security without all the modules of the full product and again I have sent a coupon to get it for a whole family 18$ for 5 computers nextgen extreme

The reason emulation is paid is that it's very expansive to let another computer (checkpoint server ) to run the sample with so many scanners , ai engines and full blown windows with programs to have "in context" emulation and consumer products only a few even emulate in full windows , including popular programs etc
The emulation checkpoint has is more advanced then eset wich is restricted to the premium only and costs more then zone alarm extreme nextgen

The extension gives you a taste of the power of checkpoint and they have the antibot component in their free av and firewall wich is usually restricted by other companies to the paid av and are actively helping a lot the open source community so they are definitely a very ethical company that genuinely care about security so mainly things that will be costly for them to give away free because of resource usage are paid for consumers

Anyone interested in harmony can contact shops like @Trident who will definitely offer a fair deal and extra services including support , polices he has created for harmony and since he has contact with guys in checkpoint he could probably give some great advices on different issues

Harmony and zonealarm use the same extension base and use the same emulation , pishing detection etc
But zonealarm is more locked down and a more usability friendly variation of optimized from my understanding

I found that Harmony runs very well on my system while ZA seemed a tad "buggy"...
