F‑Secure and Allianz Partners, a world leader in B2B2C insurance and assistance, are collaborating to develop a comprehensive cyber security suite, combining cyber security prevention, protection and insurance, delivered through Allianz, F‑Secure and their partners.

The new joint partnership, which will roll out in the second half of 2023, aims to offer a comprehensive package of cyber security and cyber care insurance, including: one protection for all devices, browsing & banking protection, virus malware protection, ID monitoring and parental control. This new solution follows a successful pilot of F‑Secure Internet Security and ID Protection insured by Allianz Partners in Switzerland, that received excellent ratings of “Good” or “Very good” from 88% of survey respondents. Likewise, 85% said that cyber security services add new value to the insurance and services offered by Allianz Partners.*

More than seven out of ten consumers see insurance companies as trusted providers of internet security, slightly preferring insurers over both online and retail stores.
This is a wrong consumer perception and expectation. It is wrong on so many levels. This is not surprising though as consumers, as a group, want somebody else to make the choices for them. Consumers do not know enough about the technical side of security so they are dependent upon others making their choices on their behalf. An insurance company knows next to nothing about the quality and effectiveness of security software. The security software publishers use the same marketing materials as used with consumers to convince the insurance companies to promote their software.

It is the same when a bank offers security software to its customers. Some of the customers think the bank offers that particular software because it has done in-depth evaluation of the product. That is never the case. The bank chose the software based upon marketing and promotion efforts from the software publisher.

A consumer is much better off selecting a default allow solution by reviewing AV lab test results over time.

84% of consumers also expect home insurance to contain internet security and insurance for cyber crime, presenting the opportunity for insurance companies to extend their offering and respond to a growing consumer need.
Most consumer home insurance policies do not include cybercrime and identity loss coverage. Some insurance companies offer "add-ons" which the consumer must pay for.

What country is that study from? Because in the USA we are very sure of the complete lack of protection any insurance provides.

No matter what country you live in, you can obtain any coverage that you desire - as long as you are willing to pay for it. Insurance companies offer all manner of "add-on" policies, even for home users.

It is just a matter of finding an insurance carrier that will provide it and then paying whatever price they ask.
