I have the same experience. No matter what I say about privacy issues, the number of scandals/controversies that appear in the news, or which software I install or recommend to my family members, they still use the most popular software/platforms.

People do not care. The outer world is different from MT. Chrome just works. It dominates the market share and change is not easy nor needed by people.

I can completely understand your point of view and I can accept the outside world's use of these services for their quality, but we specifically in the region must reconsider our calculations and evaluate our choices and not support companies that support the Z entity, because in the end our support for them is used to exterminate us. It is true that they always claim that their problem is only with X and Y, but history has proven that they always lie. We do not want to say we were eaten the day the white bull was eaten, or is it too late for that!

Firefox has a different approach. It won't download any models on its own, but it does come with some smaller model in order to have basic AI functions working such as translation, or describing tabs. If you want to use advanced AI, it will offer you to download the larger model.

It does not work that way. Google has everything; the bookmarks, the passwords and the rest of Google services. Chrome is everywhere.

You can import everything from Chrome to Firefox with relative ease. Then use Firefox Sync to sync everything to Mozilla account.

I am an activist and some UK websites called me a "hardcore propagandist" because of my principles. I personally lost my old life because of Zs.

So I am against using Google services from a privacy standpoint as well as for their support for the Zs. You should read about Project Nimbus.

I am well aware of this and Waterfox is the Browsee of my choice, but to someone who is using Chrome, give me one valid reason for them to make the switch.

The only reason, I care about FF is because of TOR. I hate Librewolf, because of forced settings an extensions, but FF is the only real alternative to Chromium. Safari is Mac.
FF is trying to survive by holding onto AI, but AI is slowly, but surely dying out. Datacenters are being phased out and AI did not deliver, so companies are abandoning it.

I hope your right about AI.

I did not know Firefox's AI uses is locally run on the PC. Does that mean it is safe to use then? No I do not plan on using it just wondering.

I have always wondered about this, and I even asked Brave Leo about it. It replied that using Firefox or Brave for all browsing tasks, even logging into the websites of big tech companies, will not allow them to profile you or reading your browsing history. Is this really true?

I used Chrome for a long time, uninstalled it a couple years ago for Brave, it was painless to import everything.

I would but it's hard for me as I don't know them.

Someone who cares about ad blocking, saying that Firefox is unmatched to any other browser when it comes to ad blocking could make them switch. If someone likes personalization, saying to them that Firefox is the only that's truly customizable. Depends what they like and what kind of user they are really.

Yes. I haven't ditched for privacy reasons though. Simply because I want the best ad blocking possible.

Basically, when using Firefox AI, nothing is going to the cloud and everything stays on your PC. Even though, Firefox doesn't collect anything through AI and uses it only for processing information in real-time.

I started using the Internet with Netscape Navigator and see no reason to switch away from its successor, Firefox. I only use Edge when Firefox runs into problems with a website—which happens only on rare occasions.
