is anydesk free ? from their website the basic plan is about 20 USD per month

That pricing is for commercial use. It is free for personal use.

AnyViewer is quite cheaper, and they usually have very cheap deals around the year, I acquired the past Black Friday, the Pro subscription for around 36€ the full year!

It is true that AnyViewer has fewer features and custom than AnyDesk, but still very good enough for that price.

i see it has a lot of configuration with Linux based instructions . no suitable for old old individual with less experience
Those are probably for self-hosting servers, you don't need to do that. You can simple download the .exe file on both clients, install it (it shows a prompt for installation) and connect using Rustdesk servers.

is there a session limit. i am trying Team viewer portable now shared by @silversurfer but the session disconnect after short time need to re-establish a connection
I've been using the free version .exe install of Team Viewer on and off for my business (personal use, not corporate, just myself) for about 6 years. The longest session I've had has been around 45 minutes without any disconnect issues. FWIW

Consider checking out ITarian Remote Access. Though I haven't tried it, it appears straightforward and free.

Click on "Get Now" beside "Remote Desktop Access is for everyoneThat's why there should be no cost."

Some screens

I have never used it, but this should also work requiring no additional software.
i have found good built in tool from Microsoft called quick assistant . Anyone try it ?? is communication encrypted ??

All Microsoft solutions require Microsoft account. That's a big NO from me.

It's free, but it has session limit of 60 minutes after which it disconnects and you have to connect again.

Pricing is for commercial use and home use if you want more features.
I think that the latest version of TeamViewer is complicated for an unexperient user o_O
I consider myself an expert when it comes to technology. And even I can't get TeamViewer to work for me. I tried many times to help my friends using it, and each time it tells me the code expired and I don't know what it means. Which sucks because I remember using TeamViewer years ago, being my go-to tool for remote connection.

Now AnyDesk is my favorite because it connects without any hassle and it's very easy to use.
