Why does GData Need to release their Betas this early?
Good question. Initially I thought it was due part of yearly releases. However, now I believe it's working in a pattern similar to Chromium's rapid release cycle, but not as often. Why should GData customers wait ~12 months before a major upgrade.

Don't take my word for it, as I may be incorrect. But I do think, more vendors / developers are making the shift -- not all.

Edit: Typo.
