No, it's not risky, It's a very simple config ! You might add CFW with @cruelsister's settings to complement Windows Defender. Thanks for sharing

I would consider a free solution such as Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper.
You might consider using VoodooShield along with Windows Defender.
Consider HTTPS Everywhere & Privacy Badger in Chrome.

Default windows image backup. I did some restores in the past and works perfectly.

I would recommend you use CFW. It isn't really heavy and will improve your security dramatically.
