With brand name PCs, often some of the drivers that the manufacturer provides will add customisations. For example with my Dell desktop, the audio driver supplied by Dell adds audio enhancements, that in my opinion, noticably improve the audio quality, as well as some other features that are not available with the standard Realtek driver. While both drivers will work, the driver from Dell is better. In this particular case, there is a more recent audio driver from Dell than the one I have installed. However, it was released for a different model and doesn't include the audio enhancements. So in this case, it's best to use the Dell driver provided specifically for this computer, rather than the latest one released by Dell. However this is not a common scenario. The two apps are published by different companies. I should add, that while I mentioned I no longer recommend Driver Easy, I do recommend it for a paid driver update tool. But when you can use PC HelpSoft Driver Updater and others for free, you may not want to pay for one.
