ok but reads like it's a Linux for Chinese. I was thinking OS from scratch, but gee I guess almost everything builds on previous work...

Yes. The first computer was probably made in ancient Greece:

The first algorithms were created in ancient Babylon. Ada Lovelace (brilliant woman) created the first algorithm for a machine in XVIII century England.
The first American touch related to the computer OS is associated with GMOS.

Anyway, it seems that China is far away from Europe and the US (whatever it means).:)
But, not in AI development.

Edit.
Chinese people are practical. They did not try inventing the OS from scratch, just like other nations did not try inventing the Chinese gunpowder from scratch.

This is true across the board in most businesses in capitalist economies
It is in all nations regardless of the economic system. Capitalism is not the root of all evils. Just like money is not.

Everything gets blamed nowadays on capitalism. Hate to point out the facts but European nations are capitalist, but they are incorrectly called socialist. The differences are minimal, but mostly due to differences in taxation schemes and polcies. When it comes to technology, every nation in the word permits companies to pass costs onto consumers\citizens.

We live in a world where most people die from eating too much and those that eat too much blame it on capitalism, the food companies, and the use of the word "obese" as racist and bigotry.

Last time I checked I am fat because I cannot self-regulate what I put into my mouth. Plus I am unwilling to exercise. People on the left are ridiculous. "I can't solve the problem myself so I will blame the cause on societal systems and use rhetoric to make it such that I am the victim."

There's a lot of different reasons why the malware problem is at it is. I do not want to get into a debate by the whole "Users Want to Use Stuff" is an obsolete model that is completely irrational given the current state of affairs. That is only the tip of the iceberg. Corporations get away with mind boggling negligence under current regulations and they just pass those costs onto you, the consumer, and to taxpayers.

For every $1 loss due a breach, society is going to pay back $1.25 to $2.00+ in aggregate through all the various "channels" such as passing the expense onto consumers with a price increase. This security and economic model is more than unsustainable. It is insane.
Your post and my comment to it below.
This is true across the board in most businesses in capitalist economies, correcting it is a difficult issue, it requires changing our thinking to a longer term model, giving up on the current norm of going for the most return as quickly as possible, what are the odds?
I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion you did in post #44 ?

Why re-invent the wheel when you can strip out the questionable portions, streamline it and employ only the secured portions. Basically a stronger SELinux

One thing that China is known for is IP theft vs innovation. Why waste $$ on R&D when you can steal?

How many Chinese products exist that on the outside look like their authentic expensive counterparts but on the inside it's running a turd?

Did anyone recall the early TOP GEAR when they tested the first Chinese made cars? Outside it looked like a Bentley but inside it had basically a wooden bench?

They came back a decade later and China has massively improved it's automotive design but still, the case in point being that they attempt to polish a turd so why OS should be any different?
