For those using Windscribe VPN client on the Windows desktop only, you may have noticed that the VPN client software runs in the foreground instead of minimized in the system tray. Here's a simple fix for this (as pictured below).

Advisory Notes:
  • Modifying the Windows Registry can render your Windows OS inoperable.
  • Please make sure you have a Full Registry backup.
  • Tested on Windows 10 64-bit with Admin account only.

Step 1 - Run RemoveWindscribeStartup.reg
  • This step involves removing the Windscribe VPN client entries from the Windows Registry, therefore after this proceed to Step 2, otherwise it will not run on startup to remain protected.
Step 2 - Run the associated file for your version of Windows.
  • For Windows 32-bit
Run WindscribeMinimized_x32.reg
  • For Windows 64-bit
Run WindscribeMinimized_x64.reg

For experienced Windows users, can this be improved? Open Spoiler.

Wich version do u use? There is a option in the client itself, lol. No need to do something like this.Maybe u should download the latest 1.60 version.

Even if there's an option to do it within the client he might like experimenting and researching this stuff himself and sharing it, it can be really beneficial to test these things as you learn more about how it works, etc :)

If everyone just used what was available we would never learn anything, I like this thread :)

Did you need to manually update? Most software have built-in Update checking or notifications.
I dont know but it seems there is no auto update. There is no option to check for updates and i never get a update alert. i just look sometimes on there site and download it manualy. the client is fairly new i realy, realy hope they add it in the future for the average user.
