Hi, anybody knows how to stop Avira from auto updating the program (not the definitions)?
I'd like to have full control of when a new version of the antivirus is installed. I don't want to stay in the same version "forever", what I want is to decide when to do the update. Recently my computer got several BSOD caused by Avira, so I had to uninstall it.

Avira Pro here. I have not found any way to control updates. Avira seems to push out new versions when they feel they are ready. But so far no problems...

Hi everyone, I know that long ago there was an option to block product updates:
Avira 13.0.0.2890 takes away the option to disable Product Updates, so stay with | Overclockers Forums

In the registry there is a value in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Avira\Antivirus\ called ProductUpdates and is set to 0.
But I can't find any information about what it does.

I also know that last version WinXP compatible was 15.0.19.164 and of course it doesn't update to new versions, but it downloads definition updates everyday.
So maybe there can be a hidden trick to full avira to not update to new versions.

Hi liamz, The configuration for the product update was removed due to the high fragmentation of Avira versions in the wild, combined with the high efforts to test all that versions with the newest product update. Also for security reasons to keep the consumers always with the best available protection against malware. We can analyze the BSOD for you to solve the issue! Could you provide the BSOD message and a minidump file?
