AS an IT repair guy, i often have to disinfect computer from malwares.
So i need my tools to be on my USB to do my job, unfortunately some systems have malwares that infect my USB flash/pendrive right away after i insert it.
Of course , i dont want to format my USB and recopy all my tools after each interventions...

There is some solutions/alternatives to that like:

- using a media disc (CD, DVD, etc...): of course it is safe but quite expensive if i need to update my tools.

- using a USB with write-protected switch: the simplest method, but a bit pricey especially if you already have many USBs.

the free solutions available are:

USB WriteProtector

USB Defender (i am using this one, thanks to Littlebits)

Windows Autorun Disable by SecurityXploded v.1.0

MCShield with a discussion/info thread Here

of course , they are not the perfect solutions, but better than nothing ;)

Are you sure that it is USB Defender that is detected?

It is a stand-alone portable executable.

As far as I know though it only comes on this USB. I've bought one of them so I know it does. Have not looked though, to see if others use it.

Maybe because it modify the autorun file

Which one do you prefer Littlebits?

All of them will do the job, I personally prefer Binisoft USB Flash Drives Control because it is in constant development and made by a trusted vendor who also makes "Binisoft Windows Firewall Control". I like the right click options on the tray icon which makes it very easy to access the controls.

Enjoy!!:D

no, even in normal mode, too. it even don't have any doubts, flag it malicious right away , not even suspicious.

i disabled the cloud in EAM/OAP in case of it was the communnity warning but no , same result.

i think so, Emsisoft is quite sensitive with things that modify important files (why i like it), i suspect the vaccination of the Autorun.inf to be the culprit.
