1. Keep liquids away from your laptop.

2. Having an available antivirus software would help.

3. Keep food away from your laptop. Don't eat over your laptop.

4. Always have clean hands when using your laptop.

5.Protect the LCD display monitor. When you shut your laptop, make sure there are no small items, such as a pencil or small ear-phones, on the keyboard.

6.Hold and lift the computer by its base, not by its LCD display (the screen).

7.Don't pull on the power cord.

8. Don't roll your chair over the computer cord.

Another one can be added,
Put it in a case when carrying it around, i.e. a laptop case.

Point number 5 was the best way for people to get a new laptop just before the end of the warranty, in UK.

Like doing a drop test.

I've seen some of them on YouTube, and I see no point to it because if all your going to drop it then it's a waste of money.

The point of these drop tests is that you will know which product to choose for me or someone similar. :p

I have seen some tech videos on youtube who display ads in their videos. They are annoying but I think that's a way they get money.

True, has to be sturdy if you accidently drop it. Still I would prefer to keep it in a case and have it working then broken.

This seems like a joke. No smoking while using your lappy.
Damage caused by cigarate fumes is not covered by warranty.
It's very rare occurance but it happens before.
