You're good to go because they don't upsell and the only thing that might obsolete it is if they stop providing AV updates. The other engines don't require updates to provide protection - the HIPS and AI engines.

Yup. The only place you can download it.

I can download it from there. But I have had issues with downloading at times in the the past.

When installed, the AV doesn't register itself with the Windows Security Center. Windows Defender remains the primary AV. The HiSec Endpoint Service is manual only and has to be restarted in a Windows instance.

No wonder it didn't update!
I need to click the UPGRADE button manually to update the latest definitions.

The manual updater works reliably and AV update definitions are posted daily.
