I might look like I am bashing Comodo, but I am just looking at it from a practical lens rather than a nostalgic one.

I think people are both sheep resulting in group think and they are ALSO easily manipulated. So you half right.People are not sheep, but rather easily manipulated especially when you weponise fear.
Comodo provided great protection and I have seen endless reviews and tests over the years where it shined, but since a few years ago it has become dead. I know it hurts when seeing a product that you love die, but isn't this life?
and what does this have to do with cis?I think people are both sheep resulting in group think and they are ALSO easily manipulated. So you half right.
Yes it is life seeing something you love die, but after death there is renewal. When something dies something is born.
How can you say that, they just put out a new version?Comodo was heavily promoted by some members here and they shared their config. I bet 99% of users who followed the hype knew nothing about the config nor how it worked. Comodo gave them a false sense of security and control.
The product is no longer actively maintained and this is catastrophic for a security solution. Other vendors are much more active, yet every once in a while we see headlines about discovered vulnerabilities. I just wonder how things are for Comodo![]()
take a look at the "What’s New in This Release" part. its a joke. it cant be serious....How can you say that, they just put out a new version?
Introducing Comodo Internet Security 2027 V12.4.0.8170
you got to be kidding...As long as it`s still light, free and works well under CS settings then who cares if it`s just a cosmetic paint job apart from the usual bunch who don`t even use it??

The only thing that haunts me about Comodo are those attackS mentioned in this forum. It is unknown if they are patched. And Xcitium releases new versions and goes on. As a security consumer I need to know if they are patched and not swept under the rug. I wish somebody could do a test of all those attacks against a recent release of Xcitium. @Shadowra ? Comodo premium is not the concern, Xcitium is the on-going business, and that must be checked out.
What about checking the release notes?
Yea using a security product with legacy code is a great idea especially when it took them month to fix compatibility issues. They're just keeping Comodo "alive". They redirected to resources to Xcitium while sparing the bare minimum to " Maintain"CIS to "please" the fanboys. As long as it`s still light, free and works well under CS settings then who cares if it`s just a cosmetic paint job apart from the usual bunch who don`t even use it??

Nope, couldn't be bothered, just post what I see, if anyone doesn't like it they don't have to read it.What about checking the release notes?
A next-gen reply.Nope, couldn't be bothered, just post what I see, if anyone doesn't like it they don't have to read it.
It is not only about CIS. The same happened when Emsisoft deprecated Online Armour. Some people just refuse to accept it. It happens all the time. Some software becomes to much of a burden to maintain. Some software are abandoned for various reasons. Software get acquired and pulled out from the market to be incorporated in another product. The list goes on.and what does this have to do with cis?![]()
