so.. they changed hips to edr (the names only) and nothing about the millions of bugs people have being reporting for atleast 5 years?

where is cruelsister to defend it by saying the changes are invisible for the normal folks, that only the "angelical ones" can see the changes inside it?

Comodo provided great protection and I have seen endless reviews and tests over the years where it shined, but since a few years ago it has become dead. I know it hurts when seeing a product that you love die, but isn't this life?

I think people are both sheep resulting in group think and they are ALSO easily manipulated. So you half right.

Yes it is life seeing something you love die, but after death there is renewal. When something dies something is born.

The post explicitly states regarding the new 'EDR' feature: 'only the on-screen naming has changed' and that existing policies continue to work without any interruption. The actual functional changes listed are just fixing update check errors and correcting installer labels.

They scrubs the old term 'HIPS' and replaces it with the modern buzzword 'EDR', but adds no new security engine or capabilities under the hood,

No technical upgrade just cosmetic rebranding.

How I read it is that they finally are aligning the code base of old Comodo to Xcitium. Corporate/business application is about Endpoint Detection Response to limit impact of intrusions. Since home users are not a corporate network (makes no sense to isolate a PC), my guess is that the script behavioral (LolBin protection), probably gets extra behavioral signals (and the antivirus hashes for blocking).

For companies operating in consumer and business market, it is common to launch new features first for consumer market and when they mature move them to the business/corporate market. Maybe home users might buy for premium management assistance (like Comodo had in the past with their awkward PC-buddy option in the past), e.g
- free = you get only local (on your PC) protection like CIS fee now
- paid = you get the benefit of latest cloud info and the protection of the herd (EDR directly adding new signals and hashes)
- pro = you get a sort of managed service for home users

Yea using a security product with legacy code is a great idea especially when it took them month to fix compatibility issues. They're just keeping Comodo "alive". They redirected to resources to Xcitium while sparing the bare minimum to " Maintain"CIS to "please" the fanboys.

It seems that Comodo users on MT and Wilders Security forums often use CIS with disabled Antivirus shield. In this way, they use it as Comodo Firewall together with another AV (like Microsoft Defender). Such a scenario was analyzed on MT last year, and most critics considered it a good security layer that can significantly increase protection against FUDs. Of course, one can use SAC instead (or WDAC-based solutions).

It is not only about CIS. The same happened when Emsisoft deprecated Online Armour. Some people just refuse to accept it. It happens all the time. Some software becomes to much of a burden to maintain. Some software are abandoned for various reasons. Software get acquired and pulled out from the market to be incorporated in another product. The list goes on.
