Yeah, it's the same as Avast's secure browser. The most important merger hasn't happened yet, which is the sharing of threat intelligence. Norton Secure Browser only blocks sites that are blocked by Avast. Malicious and phishing sites that are blocked by Norton but not by Avast are not blocked. So, it does not receive any threat data from Norton.

@Jengo are you able to install the extensions you want, or is it only their extensions from their site?

Don't forget what you're signing up to: License & Services Agreement.

Bloatware in Norton Secure Browser? Video Downloader and Coupons (US residents only).

Ben Wadors, Director of Browser and Search at Gen - the owners of Norton - said that, "we’ve built in some of our best technology and innovation to help protect people from new and persistent web-based threats and made it easy for them to choose what they share with advertisers."

He added that in Norton Secure Browser, users can do this "all from a centralized security and privacy dashboard you can customize in seconds." Wadors also emphasized its ease of use, claiming that, "there’s no frustration finding the right menu options or features to turn on."
For instance, there is a feature called Privacy Guard, which allows users to block ads and trackers as they search and browse the internet. And Web Shield can detect and block fake sites, often used by threat actors to phish their victims that can lead to malware being downloaded.

There is also an integrated password manager to allow for easy login to websites, as well as preventing applications and malware from viewing or changing your passwords.

I don't really see the point to these secure browsers. If you've got a good security setup, including an adblocker and private DNS service I don't see what else this browser offers.
Most of their customers dont use adblocker or private dns , this is why there are milions of downloads on avast/Avg/norton browsers

Nothing more different than all the other AV. I trust Norton more than any other.
You call Norton trustworthy? Now defunct, Norton profited from their customers by installing a crypto-miner in 2021-22. Most of the now Gen-owned cybersecurity companies have been involved with using deceptive tactics.

If a branded "Secure Browser" is needed to stay safe, then there's a clear lack of guidance, knowledge and understanding of how to use the Internet safely.
