I was installing it on my new laptop and the edge browser wouldn't let me, I went to brave and windows defender wouldn't let me either. I decided to transfer it to virustotal and I found the surprise of a trojan and 3 more viruses

Thank you for sharing this information. It's crucial to always scan files with tools like VirusTotal before installing. It's recommended to not proceed with the installation of this file as it appears to be compromised. Always download software from trusted sources to avoid such issues.

In general, a lot of software from IObit are known for detection by certain AVs on VirusTotal.
Malwarebytes classified it as PUP what means no virus infection,
Dr.Web detection is most likely False Positive.

Definitely a false positive. PUP and grayware detections are not malicious.
Considering CCleaner's case (owned by Avast at the time), I would still wait for a week or so, just in case.
I use plenty of detected apps, like System Informer, Nirsoft apps or Wise cleaners, but better safe than sorry.

Iobit known for PUP...😂 Stay way from it.
A PUP detection doesn't mean too much, as many tools such as cleaners, driver updaters and uninstallers are often classified by some antiviruses as PUPs. In addition a PUP detection, means that something is classified as being potentially unwanted, rather than being malicious.

I know that but if you have other options why give it a chance..🙏

Some apps that are classified as PUPs can be useful for some people. I use some PUPs myself. In the case of IObit Uninstaller, the fact that it occasionally displays popup ads and that these days it doesn't do a particularly good job of finding leftovers, are both very good reasons not to use it, rather than because it's sometimes identified as a PUP.
