Hi everyone,

I recently switched from an Android phone to an iPhone, and I want to transfer my WhatsApp chats, including messages, photos, and videos. Is there any reliable way to transfer WhatsApp data from Android to iPhone? I would really appreciate step-by-step guidance or any personal experiences.

Yes. The most reliable method is WhatsApp’s official transfer process using Apple’s Move to iOS app. It can transfer chats, photos, videos, voice messages, and group chats from Android to iPhone.

Before starting

  • Use the same phone number on both devices.
  • The iPhone must be new or erased and at the initial setup screen. If it is already configured, you normally need to erase it first.
  • Install the latest available versions of WhatsApp on both phones and install Move to iOS from Google Play on the Android phone.
  • Both devices should be connected to power and the same Wi-Fi network. Keep them close together during the transfer.
  • Make sure the iPhone has enough free storage for the WhatsApp data.
  • Check Apple’s and WhatsApp’s current compatibility requirements, since supported Android, iOS, and app versions can change.

Transfer steps

  1. On the Android phone, install and open Move to iOS.
