Is WinPatrol Necessary For Our PC ?

I have been peeping through this software and finding some useful stuffs that we can handle. So is this software really needed or just stay out of it using an alternative which doesnot run in realtime ?

WinPatrol is still installed on our Windows 7 & also the sleeping XP. Just today (on 7) it alerted me an unidentified program (which eventually turned out to be some Windows file library) had wanted to be among the startup programs on our computer. I <clicked> reject.

Well i use it on one machine but not the other. Why i am not sure.

For me it caused me a strange issue with secunia psi, so removed them both.
No more WinPatrol for me.

Many moons ago I used Winpatrol, but no longer feel the need; as Kaspersky 2015 offers a great deal of protection. I heard that Winpatrol has been sold off to another company?

I have had Winpatrol installed on any personal system that I've owned for years, but I personally don't think of it as any sort of anti-malware application but instead as a useful utility.

As Cats-4 (God, I LOVE that picture!!!!!) has mentioned, WP is really good at both alerting to, listing, and allowing one to deal with any startup items that exist on one's system. Often a service from a valid application can cause system issues; WP provides an elegant way to deal with this.

Now for the truth- I enjoy having Scotty sitting in the Taskbar.

I winpatrol on my computer. It is good program to use. I don't have any problems with it at all.

Winpatrol is probably a legend when it comes to system changes, and while it is not perfect and did have its flaws, it has proven time after time that what ever the "other" system change programs do, Winpatrol just does it better.
But as a long time WP fan i can tell you that you need to understand its workings in order to fully appreciate it.
