Hello to you too,
julius julius. Welcome to MT, and thank you for sharing your config which looks very light and clean.
I have UAC set at "
Always notify" too!
..and I liked how you used "
*.1" instead of the number 8.1, lol!!
For added security when using IE, go to "Tools" >>> choose "Internet options" >>> then under "Security"
- check the box "Enable Protected Mode" (it's beneath the security level slide control).
In Chrome, for both security & privacy, you'll need an ad blocking extension which
is ultimately your own decision.
Here are two (both use very low resources) you can look into:
- ublock https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/µblock/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm
- AdGuard https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adguard-adblocker/bgnkhhnnamicmpeenaelnjfhikgbkllg
A blocker of java script (like Firefox's add-on "
NoScript", is shields like UAC in a sense) protects against vulnerabilities, and on sites you trust scripts can be unblocked.
As you are familiar with VM testing, Sandboxie (originally designed to protect weaknesses in IE) provides an added layer of protection using a "sandbox" to keep your browsers safer, and unexpected changes which occur <clicking>, isolated from effecting your system permanently unless you choose.
