They actually seemed to have improved a lot and k7 is lightweight and unfortunately at least on default settings I wouldn't really recommend it yet but it's getting closer to a solution I can recommendOK, I took the plunge and installed the trial version of K7 TS.
Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8
1 GB (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit) of memory (RAM), 1 GB of free hard disk space
Working internet connection required for activation & updates
Administrator rights required to install the software
That's why I configured it to high.See #32 post. I am also don't rely on default settings of any Av. Yes they improved alot from 2017.They actually seemed to have improved a lot and k7 is lightweight and unfortunately at least on default settings I wouldn't really recommend it yet but it's getting closer to a solution I can recommend
I believe that users with safe computing habits can use any of the tested AVs in App Review - Shadowra's Big Comparative : Episode 2 - Paid Antivirus without issue. They actually seemed to have improved a lot and k7 is lightweight and unfortunately at least on default settings I wouldn't really recommend it yet but it's getting closer to a solution I can recommend

Quite a few somewhat useless alerts about camera access, etc. and one 'Buy now' popup after a signature update. Very low machine impact. Do you know how to reset to default settings? I don't quite remember all that I changed. Please share your K7 experience with us.
To restore it to default settings open K7 interface Click top tab of "Settings" scroll down to last tab click"Genaral Settings" go to Manage Product Settings click"Load install Settings".You can also create a restore point before you change to default by "backup Existing settings". Hope this helps you.Quite a few somewhat useless alerts about camera access, etc. and one 'Buy now' popup after a signature update. Very low machine impact. Yes, this is not unexpected, except today I got another 'Buy now' message, with the difference that this one claimed I had been protected from 10 attacks. All of them related to services trying to access the camera. I consider this a scare tactic. Can't do much about buy now popup because you are using their 30days demo not paid product.
You can contact them via K7 ticket and discuss with them about popups.K7 TicketYes, this is not unexpected, except today I got another 'Buy now' message, with the difference that this one claimed I had been protected from 10 attacks. @oldschoolMy Workaround for Pop-ups: Open K7 interface click to Settings tab scroll down and click General Settings tab now in Miscellaneous untick display non-critical messages, untick display auto-update notification. Its working but one downside to this is if you untick Auto Update notification it is not showing popup of auto update complete but you can always check by opening user interface or green dot while updating k7 in taskbar.
They often sent such type of mail with over dramatic alert. It's really very annoyingI know companies need to promote their product, but this is unnecessarily over-dramatic. I don't like this strategy.

They could drop the graphic and instead use language like "Hackers attack someone every 39 seconds. Ensure you have the best protection against malware. ... etc." But, what do I know?
Technically hackers attack nonstop, 39 secs is just an average and beyond that, no AV or a firewall can stop a hacker, not even FBI/NSA can do that. AV is designed to stop malware.Hackers attack someone every 39 seconds
Ahh let them make some money. OR they would go out of business, and you wouldn't get to enjoy their product anymore. They also wouldn't be making any improvements. Here it is:

Yes. Atleast K7 is not like @vast! Ads You know what I mean. It's not for free use like @vast and bombarded with ads... It's only available for paid.Ahh let them make some money. WE don't work for free, neither does the company that employs us. Same for any company, including software companies. *Macrium and K-7.
