Allow me to announce the launch of beta testing the new version of the product KAV/KIS/KTS.

Available for testing build: http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/KAVKISKTS_2016/16.0.0.207/

Can be activated on the Internet license for beta testing for 90 days. Before installing the new build will delete the previous one.
Their impressions of the Assembly are writing here.

Some aspects of difficulty for novice testers:

1. Do not proceed with testing, without reading the instruction.

2. Product hampers! The reason is included in Application Verifier. Be patient, you're beta testers, not ordinary users. Verifier necessary for the formation of a more detailed dumps, if desired, it can easily be disabled by turning off self-protection and removing the key avp.exe from Image File Execution Options.

3. Included in the trace. The product will be writing to the disk files of a large size. The trace can be disabled via the "Support" link from the main window.

Please refer to the testing process carefully. It makes no sense to have in a bug-sheet problem, the fix for which we are unable to verify. If the problem appeared out of nowhere and that's mysteriously disappeared after reinstalling the product - try to find a way to reproduce it, otherwise this problem probably will not be added to the bug list, so as not to be able to verify the correction. If the product fell out of the blue", and you can't reproduce the crash - just send dumps via the interface KAV/KIS.

When a sufficient amount of information error messages (bug reports) will be transferred to the attached topics and added to the bug lists. You can send a description of the problem immediately in the topic for bugs (attached topic), if information about her playing enough - it appears you have a relatively stable and you (or in the test lab LK) it is possible to collect this information for a diagnosis.

Strong Suggestion:

Kaspersky takes beta testing quite seriously and has mechanisms\procedures that must be followed; it is reasonably well-managed.

For best bug discovery do not use virtual machine (VM)... although Kaspersky recommends using VM. Using VM might miss bugs that only occur on physical system.

If you do not have a second beta testing machine, then really...beta testing Kaspersky is not a good idea.

Don't be like me and learn the hard way.

I found 2 new features in the UI: http://prntscr.com/6i4r0p

I really like the additions Kaspersky does every year.

What do you think about these features?

System Settings protection is good feature, but I think most of the protections are already built-in to K products. So I am not too sure what they may have added here other than to disable to prevent problems when installing other software. Instead of disabling K to install software, it just enables registry changes/system changes during install? Maybe you can post screenshot?

Private Browsing - probably just enables private browsing features. User can already do that in browsers so that is duplication. I hate duplication. They should just save the excess code added - but their target audience is novice family so I understand what they are trying to accomplish. Just my opinion. Maybe it adds something like NoScript?

Theres also a trusted applications mode now under additional tools.

And a tab for one of the new functions, that function is basicall blocking trackers it seems.

But you have to remember: How many peope use AdBlockers or Tracker blockers?

Yeah. It's meant for those that are essentially IT illiterate.

Kaspersky would be almost perfect if instead of notifications of registry entries, accesses, COM objects, etc in Interactive Mode, it notified user that autorun entries, services, Active-X, etc were being installed. Just like WinPatrol.

Even most advanced users do not know what all the registry and other changes are from the infos given in typical HIPS notifications.

Afterall, all that cryptic infos = autoruns, services, tasks, etc.

It would be more clear = much more user friendly.

Just food for thought...

So, from the looks of it K is not going to revamp the user interface.

It's OK, but navigation\flow is not very good.

Tried to install it on Windows 10 Build 9926 and got BSOD just after installation... Strange... Maybe they changed a lot of stuff in drivers or components because their stable 2015 version works well on Windows 10.
