Can anyone explain why Kaspersky has so many limitations in 64 bit platforms ?

The program is 32 bit, but do the limitations in 64 bit reduce Kaspersky's protection significantly, or shouldn't I be concerned ?

I'm running KIS latest version on a 64 bit machine.

Reading the descriptions here: Limitations in Kaspersky applications functioning on 64-bit operating systems
It sounds like all of these are limitations of 64 bit Windows 8 specifically.
Protection limits that rely on hypervisor pertain to Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 and they are natural limits, like hypervisor features not being used if your CPU doesn't support it.

For the other limits it is not clear, why they are in place for Windows 8 but it might as well have to do with features that are not provided by the operating system.

The limitations are on your hardware and settings not x64, as explained by Kaspersky.

They even tell you with brief description what you need to do, to lift those restrictions.

Same way Windows 10 Security is limited unless you enable Secure Boot, Virtualization and TPM (you can check this on Device Security).

Yeah, I understand that thanks, but running ancient Intel Core Duo which doesn't have those features.

Will have to upgrade soon, when budget permits !
